Idk what's going on in the concept art, it almost looks like Sally is trying to kick her while she artfully dabs. I think what makes it more obnoxious is all the modern colors and shit they're adding to the wheelchair, you can at least excuse it because children like ugly gaudy colors, Spiderverse does this too but at a frequency that becomes more annoying as you notice it.

But disabled/diverse characters isn't new, why do you think Franklin exists? I mean Charlie Brown also did a special about a girl with Leukemia after all.

In moderation I don't really see a problem. Bruce Timm drew pinups, R Crumb and Ralph Bakshi, despite hating each other had loads of pornographic elements in their work, Kim Jung Gi made a shit load of porn, Genndy and Craig McCraken probably have a giant stash somewhere.
Speedo and Balak stick out to me in that thumbnail because they both have incredible talent and tons of legitimate animation work, but they also do porn on the side because they like it and think it's fun. To me there's nothing wrong with an artist or any creative type indulging.

I think the bigger problem is porn addicted behavior and porn culture seeping into casual online culture. To be honest if I was an art director and I revealed a new character I was excited about only to see 14,000 comments of "porn is going to ruin this" I'd probably rope myself. You need a healthy balance in life, guys like Speedoru have that imo.
 
You kind of have to be some level of freak to get into animation in the first place. No sane person would want to deal with drawing hundreds if not thousands of images for a single project.
