Here's the finished version of the clip compilation/time lapse (it's 5 minutes of clips and then a bunch of pictures).

It's honestly beautiful.

Do we have any German speakers in the thread? We need a word for the emotion you feel watching the 'time lapse to music of the house' at the end of a season of Fishtank. There is nothing else like it, even on the bad seasons. It doesn't hit the same after you've moved past the season and revisit. It feels like everyone entering the House was a year ago, like your reminiscing over a semester of high school or college.

Too much Beth though.

One of my favorite nights out of all seasons was in season 2 when they did the bunk bed building challenge. TJ got absolutely wasted and was just laying on the floor dead while Sam stands in the middle of the room disappointed, Duanyay also drunk as fuck laying on the stairs and we got the iconic "These white people trying to kill me", not a single bunk bed even close to being built the whole night, TJ and Duanyay crawling around drunk in the upstairs hallway/bathroom.

Another night being when they brought Alex's hog wife on the show. The whole event including the Frank wild Randy reveal later, but especially the bedroom scene and Burt popping up in the doorway with a sword and shield because a TTS told him to save Alex B will forever be one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
genuinely couldn't agree more, those are 2 moments that stuck out to me too, counting the entire show, the ending of the candy challenge in S5 also counts

Wonder if upping the prize money is worth it, or if they should do the day rate thing again. Would the pool of applicants willing to humiliate themselves online forever/tank their professional hireability increase much? Seems like this last season, a lot of the fish just wanted to chill there and get some fans more than really win.
They should be paying all the losers a day rate, regardless of whether or not it brings in more applicants. I'm not sure how it's even legal to have someone work for you for 30 days and use their image in perpetuity without paying them anything. An illegal clause in a contract invalidates the entire contract regardless if the victim signed it. That's why most NDAs and prenuptial agreements don't hold up in court.

Insane if true, but I hate the airing of grievances shit from people who were perfectly fine with this stuff until they got fired. This dude kept missing deadlines because he was too busy putting his dick in Josie and talking about K-Pop,
I'll take his episodes over AB's trash any day.

Duanyay sold James Drake's shoes to Burt.

It's been 24 hrs since I watched a normie choke out two retarded women for 50k and I have finally been able to fully digest it.

All I can say is this: more people in this thread should be shitting on that autistic who sent several TTSes shouting out kiwifarms and professing their love of Bashir. Horrifying. Depressed me to know I share a virtual space with them.

To all the clippers, the Europeans manning the thread while I slept posting updates, screencaps, and clips, the unemployed manning the page while worked... I wouldn't have been able to enjoy this show nearly as much as I did without you. Genuinely from the bottom of my heart, you helped me look forward to the mornings before work and I am so grateful. As a thank you here is a gif I did not make, but I did save. It is the best of the season imo.

Since there was so much arguing over hellhouse vs friendtank earlier this season it's got me curious what qualities everybody is looking for out of fishtank? Like what does it take to make a day of fishtank memorable for you?

For me I think the most important things are it's funny, chaotic, and I guess "absurd" for lack of a better word.
Basically this. Much like there should be an assortment of fans, normies, and eccentrics there should be an assortment of friendtank moments, hellhouse moments, funny moments, disturbing moments, chaos, vibe repairs that become endearing, absurdity, etc.

The wiggers and the site chat and Twitter fans are always talking in platitudes. This is retarded. Moderation in all things.

I guess preplan for repairs.
its better to play safe with stuff like this for sure.
Honestly, I think watching the entire process would be too much, but I would be interested in a Vibe Tank Repair Day where we see some of the work repairing the House afterwards, where Jet and Ben talk about the home repair shit they've had to learn in between the seasons.
Keep the prize money as is but add a lot more challenges with cash rewards in the middle. I would even say as far as ~30k in challenge prizes throughout the 30 days which is really not that much in the grand scheme of things.
I would imagine that the biggest thing holding people back is the thought that they will most likely not win the grand prize anyway so why bother in the first place. But if even staying for 10 days would mean a chance for approximately $10k then thats a whole other story.
It also incentivizes them to stay as long as possible even if they pretty much know that they will be eliminated at some point(for example like JD)
I think more prize money is good, but I also liked that Jet held out until half way through to start giving out more prize money, so that the quitters(Bezos, Charity) and the lame(JD) got nothing. I think Drunk POS challenge was the only cash prize in the first two weeks, and I think they could of done more. Probably would have until whatever point they decided to give Burt his S3 prize, there did to seem to be a point where they got much stingier with the prize money after Triathalon.

There isn't any one thing that makes a season good. It's Contenthouse, but what Content 'is' is very amorphous. Not just because of individual viewer's tastes, but also because of what's going on in the show. Content in Season 2 is different from Season 3 and 4 and 5.

Season 2 was probably the most Hellhouse the tank has ever been, and mostly out of incompetency. A diet of Grits, Cherry Menthol energy drinks, and forced excessive cigarette smoking sounds like a funny concept, but it just kinda broke everyone. The content that season was largely from people breaking.

Season 3 was about 2 weeks of gaslight, with these people unaware of what show they were on, 2 weeks of more traditional Fishtank content, and then 2 weeks of the show falling apart. Content that Season was largely carried by amazing personalities like Luke, Alex B, Jobe and Burt.

Season 4 was what I called the Scumbag season. It's probably the most antagonistic the Fish were against each other, a combination of factors. Selfish or shameless people, and the rules of the House driving it like cash rewards being able to be stolen. Content largely came from Freddie being an experienced junkie loser that takes advantage of people and Drench being a literal whore who would do anything on the show.

Season 5 was the most Friendtank the show has ever been. Oddly I think it's also the season they drank the most too. It was more like a 3 weeks party house with crazy stuff going on. I suspect it's the season Hellhouse types like the least. Content this season was more driven by Fish that were actual likable people, which is part of why the end really leaves such a sour taste in people's mouths. A season 4 ending where Freddy wins by choking out Angie or Ellie(Drench would of twisted his nuts off for the win) would hit a lot different than what we got.

I think for a good season, the Fish have to be put through all elements of the show. They have to have cozy times where they get along, they have to be put through hell, they have to be gaslit to confusion, they have to stumble through complete absurd set ups. Also they need to have nontent to recover though, Jet was better about that this season(except for one or two times he gave into Hellhouse spergs). But the show has to always be on its toes for what is working with the cast.

Unremarked-upon S5 moment that probably nobody thought was funny but me:

When Beth was crashing out throwing water everywhere in the dorm and hallway Jet came up to confront her and said something like “I don’t want this to be just like, ‘The Wet Show’”

“The Wet Show” is just so funny to me I’ve been laughing to myself about it for weeks.

So people are saying Burt's $50k is a bit, I really don't think so though. I think last minute they decided to give the Twins $20k and Burt $50k because they made so much money during the last month.

Must haves:
  • Interesting personalities and character arcs
  • People either sinking or swimming to the pressure of the tank
  • Absurd shit that makes you remember that it isn't Big Brother lite
Things to work on
  • Have a host that actually hosts because Bam basically did nothing
  • Production communication ( :optimistic:... still seething over the fake timer especially when they said later on they were trying to get Mauro on during it and they didn't just fucking tell us that)
  • Try to make each contestant be heavily pressured by the tank in some way at some point (Drake was seething for hours after being called a shit actor by Ben and then they just let off the gas like they were afraid of him coming down and beating them up)
  • Freeloaders really shouldn't be buddies with fish, or at least there should be a healthy mix of teaming/passive freeloaders and pure rogue element freeloaders who cause chaos and not default to watermogging
Things to never do again
  • Never bring back any IP2 or Streamstars people again (Kimmie was a complete Nuke Fiber and Beth was really bad, Suzie was okay but really loud and annoying to the audience and not the fish)
  • Do not fatigue the house with back to back women freeloaders because things will inevitably turn into production having to guard them when they do fishtank activities (Laura on multiple occasions like the poopmogging incident was immediately protected and caused the Fort Drake siege to stop because she's a woman, I don't care that there was a Vicky shaped hole in the house she sucked and took hours of TTS or gallons of alcohol to gas her up to do anything)
  • Do not let Letty have any say over the show ever again because her ideas are bad
I think this season had a good mix of Hellhouse and Friendtank moments. I do like how it turned into a Hellnight when Landon refused to superbed because it was really funny to see everything turn to shit and for beds to be taken, but imagine if they kept that intensity up. I don't think this season's fish would've really done anything besides sleep all day or barricade up and pace around. Friendtank moments were good because it had them gang up on the freeloaders and kick them out and the moments between Bashir and Landon was both endearing and funny because Bashir would drag on his advice for way too long and Landon would still never learn from it.
