"Current year" terms that piss you off

That's just the switch-logic isn't it? Aka entirely of reddit and lemmy. A "grifter" simply with a different opinion isn't conning you out of, anything, off the bat.
 
It may have been said before, but "died by suicide" is mine for the day.

This morning, I saw some headline on the default portal page that said, "(Public figure) kills wife, dies by suicide," because even the mainstream media refuses to say, "kills wife and himself" or "kills wife and commits suicide."

I'm not surprised, but TFW using cute, sanitized language sounds much worse than then blunt original language ever did.

Sad really. It's no wonder I've been feeling like moving to another country where I won't have to listen/read English 24/7 and just be OK with that.
 
I have said latinx as a joke so many times (because it is a funny phrase) that it has become the default way that I refer to people from Latin America.

There’s this trend that started on TikTok of calling people “larpers” to imply they aren’t “true fans” of [insert pop culture here].

I don’t think gatekeeping a fandom is always a bad thing, but I have seen people overuse the term in ridiculous ways to describe fans who aren’t as “hardcore” as they think they should be.

Now even the words "die" or "bomb" are censored (like "rape" as "grape")? FFS.

Like I said I think the crap started with fear of getting "demonetized" on YT.

I've noticed this very recently. I'll also add calling people "tourist" for not liking some niche part of a fandom while implying it's actually a key, major part of the fandom. No points for guessing what the niche usually is.
 
Using "cringe" or "cringy" as a descriptor. I'm surprised it became endemic instead of dying out. It's just another cutesy zoomer way of calling things retarded. Just be up front when something sucks.
 
Instant karma comes to mind I keep seeing it in that one limey faggot who brings his faggot butt buddy bodyguard to the shitty parts of various English cities and talks shit at some pubeheaded pakis only for them to get slapped or karate kicked why does it piss me off? because that's not what karma is and never was and waters down an entire philosophy of ones greater impact on their surroundings and how they leave the world for the future generations into some basic bitch shit.
