Troonslop "Retro" Games / Demake games / PS1 Trannies / ULTRAKILL / Y2K trannies - Retro gaming is infected

We're coming in on 10 years since chapter 1 released and we are still only halfway through.
Woah, i never through Toby saw Yanderedev and thought "Damn, i kinda want to do the same". Remember Yandere Simulator has been in development for 12 years. Toby is getting close.
People buying into his "wholesome silly quirkchungus widdle guy who makes games in his basement" online persona are retarded.
I remember the interviews he gave some time ago and he really tried hard to do the "lolsorandumb quirky chungus" persona that it came off as pure cringe. At this point i think that it's all purely performative or he's deeply autistic and that is the only thing he has going for his personality.
It is built on fandom, for fandom, designed to be enjoyed through fandom.
In this daye and age fandoms are filled with retards, trannies, degenerates and brainlets. If you do anything for the fandom it's going to be gay and retarded no matter how you cut it. Do it for you and your fans. But the fandom better kick fucking rocks or they will drag the quality of everything you do.

The only advantage Toby has over YanSim and even Heartbound (PirateSoftware's game) is that at least the game is in a playable state. The staggered release wouldn't be that bad if it was at least every year, but in hindsight he should have split the game into 2 parts rather than into chapters. The free updates are nice but it's annoying to live in limbo where you're not sure if the game will be done or not in a reasonable amount of time

Deltarune has it even worse
That's why I mentioned it's unfinished. Worse, every episode is too different from the previous one, and I don't just mean in terms of time between. As that article someone posted that was an endless wall of text, every new episode doesn't seem particularly connected with the previous one, such as characters randomly devolving and throwing a long rant that feels extremely awkward (extra points for a 4thh wall breaking "they, this is long" warning, kek), blatant RL ads that have no place, and making pretty much EVERY couple gay.
How do monsters reproduce again?
At this point I wish to see how it ends... If it ends.

Don't forget the blatant censorship. After censoring that scene because some troon screamed RAPEE!!!, I don't see Toby having the guts to do something extreme even when the story demands it.

some troon screamed RAPEE!!
It was a vocal minority consisting of 4cucks who were screaming rape, mainly because they were jerking off to it.
The average deltatroon fan didn't have the media literacy to associate a flower losing its petals with rape, or would simply interpret it as symbolism rather than something sexual. They could have left it in and no one would have cared.

This is unrelated to the thread but all ask anyway. What is the best websites to pirating video games other then the ones you can get on the pirate bay
Rutracker for me. myabandonware.com is also worth of checking for older games since it has some information about running it on modern PCs.
Hell, I gave Silksong a lot of shit back in the day for going on so long with way less communication, but after seven years it came out complete and with DLC on the way instead of taking a little under a decade to be only half-done
I've enjoyed Silksong, but it felt incomplete like they downscaled game a bit. Most boss fights including final were bosses you fight previously (Lace, Widow -> First Sinner, Trobbio, Dancers etc. and while they were more challenging it still felt a bit cheap), some areas felt a bit empty and stretched + ability to skip some areas with caravan made starting areas feels very unimported. Also while judging released game by teaser might be a bit dumb, but the teaser showed slightly more areas and one existing area (the coral tower) was an open area rather a series of arena fights.

Of course all of this in the context of having more than 7 years of the development. I understand that they have a small team, but game itself is relatively simple genre based on already established game. Not to mention amount of bugs (teehee, get it? :christine:) and balancing issues.
Could you imagine if Deus Ex or Half-Life were done today?
Maybe I missed a joke, but didn't Half-Life 2 have episode system? So in a way they were potentially a company who started the trend.

It also helps to have that layer of hidden lore in the game to keep YouTube channels producing hours-long slop about it.

It's not my thing but I can understand why people like it. I'm just waiting for the entirety to be done because a shit ending (or shit explanations) can ruin the whole experience for me.

The most I'd call Deltarune/Undertale is "troon-adjacent".

The fandom just kinda awkwardly ignores how this game should definitely be finished by now considering that it has teenagers who would've been eight years old when chapter 1 came out and 5 when UT itself released, all just because it releases in chapters. Hell, I gave Silksong a lot of shit back in the day for going on so long with way less communication, but after seven years it came out complete and with DLC on the way instead of taking a little under a decade to be only half-done. (and while I like the game I'll say its replay value is actually pretty weak if you already know what's going on,
I'm not much of a video game player, but I played Undertale when it came out and it felt really fresh. The battle minigames were fun, the setting was novel and playing it blind meant the twists were surprising. Deltarune does not, because it's reheated Undertale.

It's in Toby's interest to have a prolonged development cycle. The absolute monstrosity of his fanbase remain engaged because it's lorebait, so they're constantly speculating about how the plot will go. He'd primed his fanbase to continue with Deltarune by making the game with the same characters but in an alternate universe and ooh are you going to meet alternate universe Papyrus in thiiis chapter? Are lesbian science lizard and lesbian fish knight going to end up together in thiiiiis chapter? Is funny skeleton man going to reveal he's a dimensional traveller in thiiiis chapter? And so on, and so forth.

The longer he drags it out, the more he'll keep making money. Toby's a bit like (a talented version of) YandereDev in that regard, who realised his fandom will only throw money at him until the game's actually finished, and he won't know what to do next once he's actually completed the game. As far as I'm aware Toby's not even actively developing the final chapter. The moment the game's finished and lore is "answered" is the moment the fandom gradually starts winding down instead of buying multiple outfits for their Ralsei plush.

I'll admit I did find the queen pretty amusing, but the overall setting (schoolchildren with magic powers who have to save the universe, and their toys etc come alive in their magic alternate world) is far too childish to my tastes compared to Undertale, which at least presented a consistent fantasy world.
and also I don't know why people keep interpreting its in-universe time period as like the 2000s because of Noelle's website when the way everyone talks is distinctly contemporary, especially in the first 2 chapters.)
It's definitely designed to evoke the late 90s/early 2000s, based on them having a "computer room" with CRT monitors
stuff-in-the-cyber-world-located-in-the-lab-v0-kq9dtdspmrs71.webp
and a big CRT TV and non-cordless landline

and there's references to things like Petz II. The game just also has completely contemporary sensibilities and memes, because it's trying to mine the nostalgia-bait angle while also subsist on brainrot.

Today a lot of people want to lorebait with vageness to disguise their laziness developing lore.
Everyone wants to be a soulsborne in regards to lore because it allows you to retcon without effort and say "well, it's just a big twist". It means that you will have no continuity nor a stable framework in your setting, which will make it cheap and boring.

It came out at the right time. It was a really unique game when it launched and the retroslop obsession hadn't set in yet.

The problem is everyone has grown up, moved on and Undertale just seems generic now. Deltarune can only hope to capture the nostalgia of playing undertale, and even then the iron is ice cold now. 10 years in development means the game is going to be dogshit no matter who makes it.

Delta Runem Forever
That's exactly the game I was thinking of. They were almost fucking done it too, but then HL1 dropped and they decided to switch engines. It would have been sick if they had released it as is. I can't remember if they were using their own engine or the Q2 engine

This was Quake II engine and then later on, they switched to Unreal engine. Main culprit for the countless delays and restarting development many times that caused 3D Realms to go bankrupt, is the fat faggot George Broussard, which unfortunately many seem to not know this fact and blame Randy Pitchford for it. lol Yes, Randy is a greasy dumb fag but DNF's development hell isn't his fault.

Toby probably isn't gonna go George's route but it still looks bad that DT isn't finished nearing its 10th anniversary.

But how about mandatory meta-exploration of toxic masculinity in military shooters and the dangers of capitalism? How else do you expect players to know that fascism is capitalism in crisis? How else do you expect players to know that trans rights are human rights?
Is there a variant of "media ruined by troons" thread to media ruined by reds/libs?
I'm referring to those fandoms that are uninhabitable shitholes because 90% of fans are niggers and they harass you until you accept that the work in question is objectively a mockery of capitalism.

Not sure if it's related to troons, but where and when exactly did the whole "late stage capitalism" nonsense start? Because that's more like rampant consumerism than "proper" capitalism.

Releasing games in chapters is the best think an indie game can do right now. If you release a full game you might get a few months of attention and sales, but that decelerates quickly as the playerbase moves onto to the next FOTM. If you’re savvy enough to ensure the first chapter of your game can capture some attention though, you can tardwrangle your audience along for years with a carrot on a stick. ‘Ooo what does THIS mean? Who is this character?’

FNAF basically invented this technique by accident due to Scott being able to pump out glorified flash games on a twice a year basis, leaving his fanbase hanging on perpetually to new mysteries to theorise about and characters to draw fanart and buy merchandise of. It turns a game into a perpetual motion machine where it never loses popularity because development never ends.

If you want to make money with an indie game there’s a formula you must follow: You make a game with a cartoony artstyle, cut it into five pieces, fill it full of pointless mysteries to be theorised over, sprinkle some mild horror/dark atmosphere here and there, add some furry/furry adjacent characters for fanartists to coom over, a tumblrsexyman for the ladies too, some basic lgbt representation, then release the first chunk with the promise that all will be revealed later on. Congratulations you now have a fanbase that will make your own marketing via fanart and YouTube videos, and buy merchandise for years to come.

I really don't get Hollow Knight's popularity. I played the game for a couple of hours, trying really hard to get enjoyment out of it but failed and dropped the game entirely and never touched it again. Is it another troonslop that tries to be deep with its story?

Beaten many metroidvania games but this one is the only one I dropped and not picked it up again, even years later.
If you're going to tell me you enjoyed Bloodstained more then hollow knight, i am going to kill myself

HK has great movement, good platforming, and the exploring is awesome. Good enemy variety, nice graphics, great atmosphere. It's a great game and it set a standard for metroidvania games

I don't know, but in my opinion it wouldn't really make sense. Average troon would still tell you that "fallout is about capitalism" and lib/red still loves trannies and would still tell you that persona 4 has tranny representation, even though the character in question grows to reject it and talks to the camera that "woman can't become men so I will learn to accept that I am a woman".
Those two threads would contain nearly identical content.

Late-stage capitalism is libtard speak for "Something bad that made a lot of noise."

If there's another strike tomorrow, 20 accounts will pop up to write long threads about how capitalism is failing, and the only salvation will be to join "them" and complain on their shitty Discord servers.

I remember they also used it as a gotcha to justify why there was more transsexualism in child products.
