Not to play devil's advocate here as chances are Onion boy is sperging over someone who doesn't want to work with him, but people do have serious control over partners sometimes.

He didn't say specifically that he knew 100% for certain that her boyfriend was controlling her, for argument's sake, let's say her boyfriend voiced a convern, and even assuming he did, for all we know her boyfriend told her what a piece of shit greg is, and she came to her own conclusion from that.
If, like my friend, she said directly that her boyfriend was controlling who she can/can't talk to or be friendly with, then yes there is a problem, mostly with the relationship. But all Greg could really do is advise instead of try and force her out, much like you'd deal with any controlling relationship as it could be abusive if he's trying to cut her off from the world. I mean if someone's SO is controlling, you don't want to seem like you're trying to control him/her out of the relationship, so telling them adamantly they need to get out or stand up to their partner could be counterproductive.
Greg seems to want to control her relationship so bad, however if this were him asking who is right/wrong there's not enough information. We don't know if she straight up said "my boyfriend doesn't want me talking to you", which, let's be honest, could just mean he doesn't want her talking to greg because he's a piece of shit (i mean I've done the same for my friends when some rando messages me asking to get them together, but that's a story for another day kids) or if she said "my boyfriend doesn't like me talking to other guys" if she said anything at all.
