Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

The reviews are in for Serkis' awful Animal Farm adaptation and it's rightfully being slaughtered:
Please, please. The appropriate term is that it's rightfully being laughtered.
If this is what we can expect from Serkis then my prediction for Gollum is that it will take the victimisation route like most modern Disney villain origin stories and be about a weird, ostracised River Person who is driven to throttling his bestie to death after being bullied by his peers and that he's just misunderstood - The Ring kept giving him the positive affirmation he so lacked in early life, is all.

It won't be a cautionary tale about how falling to temptation wrecks your relationships and your very being, it'll be about how one has no real control over their actions and anyone who tries to punish or stop you is the real villain and that the wider group is ultimately responsible for what you do because they didn't pre-emptively give you enough positive reinforcement in your childhood or any other excuse people reach for when they make bad decisions.
I don't know shit about Lord of the Rings, but I tought Gollum's whole deal was that he was obsessed with keeping the one ring for himself because of how powerful it was.

Someone found a clip to a proposed "sequel" to yellow submarine called strawberry fields, this clip coming from around 1987/88 and uses the song come together (but not the beatles version, but rather the Michael Jackson cover)

Pretty impressive animation but the designs are all over the place and the jokes are (as someone in the comments pointed out) seemingly pre-made to be clipped by The Nostalgia Critic.

Michael Jackson did bought The Beatles catalog.

The producer of Yellow Submarine was behind this (Al Brodax).

I like the phrasing of 'likely' as if there's still room for a chance that Nickelodeon will just go full mask off and make an episode exploring Vicky wanting to jump the underaged boy. I mean, we all know that most kids networks are staffed by paedophiles, but they have to be capable of some restraint for plausible deniability.
There was that one episode where Timmy wished he had a 16 year old body to ride a roller coaster or something, and Vicky falls in love with him and thinks he's some Norwegian supermodel and tries all episode to drag him into the Tunnel of Love to make out with him against his will.

He got turned back just in the nick of time and I think this is just Vicky holding her lips out, not actually kissing him, but she spent the whole episode chasing him down, so it's still weird.

But yeah anyone seriously shipping Vicky/Timmy is insane, even as a child I knew Timmy and Tootie would end up together as adults (Trixie's just the "unattainable popular girl" and Timmy's always going out of his way to be nice to Tootie. There's a whole episode where he literally lent her Cosmo and Wanda for her birthday, that was insane before the fuckin' fairy-sharing seasons with Chloe.)
I have no clue who any of these characters are and my first thought at the term "Devzel" was holy shit please tell me no one is shipping anyone with Denzel Crocker.
oh god, this comment flashed me back. I had a nightmare a couple years ago where Mr. Crocker had kidnapped me and kept me tied up in the back of his fairy-hunting van to do unspeakable things to me, meanwhile he was telling my parents he was leading the search for me (because I was "missing.") I was so disturbed I couldn't think about the character the same after that. I almost never watch FOP as an adult now, but it gave me creeped out memories for weeks.

Stop reading so much Mr. Crocker fanfiction while listen to True Crime podcasts, fam.

bastardizing a film based on a book that points to the flaws in a Communist system?
It opens the first of May which is a communist holiday by the way, they couldn't be any more obvious they want the us to be a commie sanctuary, that being said.
If these are mainstream reviews the ones who usually praise whatever garbage serk and Seth Rogan try to force us then color me surprised.

Little late, but it’s officially happening

Something tells me that Shrek 5 was supposed to come out in June and these sets were to coincide with it. Now they are apparently 25th anniversary sets.

Speaking of 25th anniversary stuff...

Since they're showing the film in theaters again because of said anniversary it has to have a popcorn bucket go along with it. So far only AMC has it but I wouldn't be surprised if other theater chains get it or have their own version.
