Iran Crisis & the 2026 War between Iran and the United States, Gulf States, and Israel - Please focus on news and coverage, not argumentation.

This is apparently the alternate "deal" that Iran tried ramming through ten minutes after Trump canceled Jared and Steve's flight yesterday. The same one that Trump immediately threw in the trash because it still wasn't close to good enough.
Axios is such a fucking meme of a website.

Hard to believe people are still falling for this, though traders have fallen for more obvious bullshit before of course, I'm betting the repeated fake news stories around peace talks are being put out more to trick trading algorithms than to sway the average joe. Wouldn't surprise me if someone at Axios or otherwise involved was swing trading on these. WTI futures are back to touching $96.30 after getting down to $95 on that news, I think it's headed for over $100 again given the lack of any progress, seems very unlikely that there'll be a deal or a return to close to typical oil prices without another round of strikes given how uppity the current crop of Iranians who appear to be in charge continue to be.

I wonder how many voters seduced by the headline promise of "America First" could have anticipated that putting America first involved starting yet another war in the middle east at the behest of Israel.

But at least they're safe from the definitely likely menace of an Iranian nuclear warhead detonating above their house. Higher prices for everything is a small price to pay.
You do know that North Korea has an ICBM capable of hitting the US mainland right? And Iran's current missile launchers can hit all of Europe....right?

Trump is right, the USA has all the cards. If we keep this blockade up for a few more weeks we could crash the Iranian economy to the point that the people just rise up. It wouldn't make a difference to us. Remember with Maduro (yea I know it's our back yard but still) we fucked around for like 3 months before getting him.

A Hezbollah FPV drone barely missed a rescue helicopter in which an IDF soldier killed by another FPV drone earlier today was being loaded. Somehow nobody was injured from the hit.

Shortly after 9:00 AM today, Hezbollah terrorists launched an explosive FPV Drone toward tanks from the 77th "Saar me-Golan" Battalion of the 7th Armored Brigade operating in the village of A-Taybeh in southern Lebanon. The Shiite village is located about 4 km from the border.

The armored company from Battalion 77 had been operating in recent days together with soldiers from Battalion 12 of the Golani Brigade and had to carry out repairs on a tank in an open area near buildings. The drone struck the force: Sergeant Idan Fooks, 19, was killed, and six soldiers were wounded, four of them seriously.

Later, terrorists launched two additional drones toward the rescue forces and toward an IAF helicopter that arrived to evacuate the casualties. One UAV was intercepted, and the second struck near the forces. There were no additional casualties.
Holy shiiiiitt. One mediocre Hezzbollah fpv pilot was literally the only thing standing in the way of Israel having the single biggest loss of life for the IDF in YEARS.
I’m an atheist and have been my entire life, but there are two countries whose unmatched win streaks might inspire some fear o’ God in me, and they’re both itching to start spit roasting Iran again.

Seriously, how can you believe that God is with the Muslimoids when shit like this happens?!
A Turkish politician announces that Israel will not escape Allah’s judgement and then immediately dies. If you put that in a fictional story your editor would cut it for being too unrealistic. God could not be less subtle.

Speculation I heard on that was the drone got EW'd from the helo, and that near miss was it just following that last vector.
Or even better Jews and Americans are masters of our own fates

IDF Demolish Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon.

As part of IDF soldiers’ activity to remove threats south of the Forward Defense Line, over the past days, more than 50 terror infrastructure sites were dismantled, including an underground compound used by the Hezbollah terrorist organization to harm IDF soldiers and the State of Israel.

During a targeted raid in the Aadshit al-Qusayr area, a weapons storage facility with numerous weapons was located inside a children’s room. Among the weapons located: explosives, ‘Kalashnikov’ rifles, grenades, RPGs, machine guns, munitions, and combat equipment.

The Hezbollah terrorist organization cynically exploits the civilian population in Lebanon in order to execute terror attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF troops.

Yesterday (Sunday), in a different incident, terrorists launched an explosive drone toward IDF soldiers operating in southern Lebanon, south of the Forward Defense Line. A short while after, the drone was intercepted.

The IDF will continue to operate against threats directed at Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers, in accordance with directives from the political echelon.

nly negatives I heard about the XM25 was it was a little heavy, you had to log around batteries for the range finder, and the PTB were worse than jews with a pennies when it came to giving you ammo due to how utterly fucked ammo procurement was.
But it utterly raped haji trying to shoot you from compounds.
Other major issue it had was the ammunition was too anemic against spread out targets compared to either the 40x46mm LV and 40x53mm HV grenades.

Maybe there were problems if you fed clip after clip of ammo through it, but troops got very limited ammo so i don't think even if you blew through your entire supply it'd overheat the gun.

So limited was the ammunition supply, virtually all of it was hand made. In part to the fuck-fuck games and the maybe, maybe not antics U.S. govt was doing with the whole program.

Axios is run by jeets, that's all you need to know.

I was thinking that this weekend just didn't feel like a resumption of bombing type of weekend. Trump had the Correspondent's Dinner to plan for, and Iran is only just starting to publicly admit to how fucked their economy is.
Maybe next weekend, assuming Congress doesn't cuck him on the War Powers Act, but I doubt they will. No one really wants to pull the trigger on testing its constitutionality.
Or maybe Trump cucks and agrees to that ridiculous "End the war before actually getting any guarantees that prompted the war" proposal lol.
Bush Sr. wasn't on site yet either. There was a chance Trump would go in before it was in theater but looks like he's waiting.

I really don't think Trump blinks on zero enrichment or on freedom of Hormuz navigation. The only think I can see him bending on is regional proxies.

I'm still waiting for the resident leftoid economic experts to explain why California making Californians pay more for gas by default than what Trump has 'caused' gas to spike to by 'causing' the greatest energy crisis of all time is actually a good thing.
Not a single person is giving Trump credit for all he's done to limit green house gas emissions.

The entire market runs on Vibe Trading. The sooner you accept this the better your returns will be.
"Fundamentals" and shit only matters if you are able to buy a business outright.

That is 200% completely fair, but again per the guys i talked to, you didn't bring out the XM25 to lay waste to mass haji formattions (because they did't exist), you were basically taking out one or two guys firing from cover, or were taking out attempts at fortified fighting positions.
The rather low level of destruction meant you didn't need to worry about the house collapsing on occupants or having a farmer dirkadirking to the tribal elders for fucking up his orchard. The XM25 was the perfect weapon for the GWOT and, in an anti-insurgency environment, the only downside the brass' refusal to actually issue and feed the damn thing.

But to be completely fair to army procurement, the XM25 didn't really replace any weapon systems, it just gave troops a new capability. It would do some things you'd use a frag or a 203 better than either, and was better at dislodging enemies from cover/keeping heads down in improvised urban emplacements (read: guys firing from inside a room out the window or while hiding behind low walls/vegetation) than a light machine gun/SAW. But it wasn't designed for mass formations, and was only just "big enough". You still needed frags, 203s, and light machineguns.

If I remember my milprocurement sperg correctly, the army was trying to kill the XM25 since pretty much delivery of the first prototype due to a) cost of system and b) because leaders didn't want the XM25, they wanted a modern "heavy rifle" aka a BAR.

With more than 90 percent of its crude oil supply effectively choked off by the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, Japan is scrambling to secure alternative oil supplies, pivoting sharply to the United States.

The Panama Canal Authority announced on April 23 that transit fees for some vessels have skyrocketed, with the average price for a last-minute auction slot surging from $135,000–$140,000 (21.5 million-22.3 million yen) before the attacks on Iran to $385,000 in March and April.

IDF Strike eliminates a Hezbollah operative + an IDF strike on Hezbollah infrastructure.

Yesterday (Sunday), troops of the 98th Division identified three terrorists who approached the area in which IDF soldiers are operating, south of the Forward Defense Line, posing an imminent threat. Following the identification, the Israeli Air Force struck and eliminated the terrorists in order to remove the threat.

In addition, several Hezbollah military structures were struck, including the headquarters of the Bint Jbeil sector and additional structures. Following the strikes, secondary explosions were identified, indicating the presence of weapons stored in the area.

The IDF will continue to operate decisively against threats directed at Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers, in accordance with directives from the political echelon.

Original sales pitches and PR for XM25 and the earlier 20x28mm XM29 OICW did advertise them as a M203 and 40mm grenade replacements. Which greatly colored the (wrong) people's perception of them. If they had advertised them as legally distinct bolters with limited area of effect blast range, it would've been better received. Even if the pertinent TPTB were clueless as to what the fuck a bolter is.

The price of oil has risen to a level neither the USA nor the globe can tolerate under current conditions. It is very likely a deal is needed before Monday so I’d expect this weekend to be full of ultimatums and probably resumption of hostilities in an effort to have a known path forward by Monday.

If there is no open strait by Monday, some cascade effects of lack of supply become hard-baked into economic models and both Iran and the USA will have some choices to make.
Well guys it's Monday, I hope you're all doing well now that the economy has died. when does the Mad Max part start?

Iran has activated their sleeper agents!
A man carrying an Islamic Republic of Iran flag was arrested by the NYPD after assaulting three individuals in a Brooklyn neighborhood, including within a Jewish community.

US Navy tells sailors to be cautious online due to Iranian hackers. Iranian hackers start babbling about going after Epstein's associates. Yes, I'm in Iranian hacker Telegram channels and all of you better thank me because these people make MES look reasonable.

please, can't we just grant this man's wish.
Ever-victorious champions of history?

That's news to Genghis Khan, Alexander the Great, the Arabs, the Romans, and the Turks. Even now you're getting outkilled 400:1 and have your entire economy shut off like a spigot at the whims of the US while being completely incapable of doing anything about it. You are so pathetic you threaten your Arab neighbors as your strategy because you can't do anything to the US.

You're arguably history's greatest laughingstock.
