Egad's scripts are the unholy combination of an English major with an inflated sense of ego and AI writing with its thesaurus database. Every point he makes is both needlessly long and incredibly obvious. A few of the streams I've caught of his are just him explaining some basic life advice or insights like how parents can't prepare their kids for everything in life, but he does so in a billion words and a theological reference or two.

Also, in his latest vid, he calls out various content creators for avoiding talking about serious politics which is a completely valid point, but then praises Synth for apparently doing so? The same guy who admitted he doesn't keep up with "real politics" and spends his vids going on schizo tangents like equating GTA Online to a proper 9-5?

That Egad willingly attaches himself to a guy who openly displays his contempt for the working life and for the mere existence of people like his mixed-race nephews (apparently his sister is married to a black guy) shows he has no self-respect whatsoever.

It could be his cadence, but even as I complimented his scriptwriting the thought of it being AI-assisted did pass me by. Upon rewatching his videos it really does give off that vibe. Problem is (and maybe this is why he hasn't taken off) he doesn't seem to be able to summarise very well or get to the point, which would be okay if he had a longform channel where this word salad is encouraged, but his "look how smart I am" tactic won't work in shortform. Ironically, longform content about games could be what helps him break through the algorithm, and I know he'll read this, so within the next year we'll have an answer to the self-awareness question lol.

The only people in their 40s who are borderline homeless are either part of the tiny minority who can blame it on bad luck, or just unfathomably retarded when it comes to life decisions. Pick up a trade, work multiple jobs, etc. Unless he's living on disability and has a government that caps how much savings he can have (some do, like the UK, I think), he has no excuse for this kind of financial ruin at his age, and he should be working his ass off in multiple jobs, yet instead of writing longer videos, maybe a novel, or fucking anything of worth, he spends his time vicariously leeching off Synthetic Man and becoming embroiled in gay drama he has no place in, just to give his life meaning.

From my understanding based off his streams, he's done the whole two jobs thing before, but nowhere he worked at would be the type of job or organisation with considerable occupational or aspirational mobility and the benefits + remuneration that comes with that. His work history mostly seems to be a bunch of lower-skilled retail jobs where the highest you could get to would be managing a store and trying to become regional manager would require immense effort + good results and/or being in the good graces of upper management. From that update vid he did (which has now since been privated), he has made it to the store manager position which seems to be able to cover his current living expenses, but then he streams on a few weekdays?

As much as I have ranted about Synth and Egad and my frustrations with them and their content before, I would ultimately summarise my feelings about them as pity. They're two men clearly suffering from the lack of proper IRL community, any meaningful relationships, and purpose, trying to substitute those with online interactions and media consumption. While my life isn't perfect, looking at them makes me grateful for the opportunities and connections that I do have and emboldens me to not waste those or whatever remaining youth I have lest I end up like them.

Healthy approach. Same here. The two seem to be made for each other in that sense. I've found that most ecelebs and wannabe ecelebs are almost always trying to fill an IRL void. If it was just for the money they'd be strictly business about it and not sperg about their personal lives. Synth and Kirsche's drama comes to mind, and it revealed he's desperate for a GF.

We all seek community and connection. These two just went for the online circus instead of the church, I guess. Funny thing is, Synth and Egad are two polar opposites in the sense that Synth is wildly sucessful (in the top 1% of all youtubers) and Egad is the one struggling to break through, and like most millennials he hopped on way too late and is up against it now. But both still seem miserable, because it doesn't fill that void.

Egad likely stuck to Synth like this because Synth is a beacon for disillusioned and lonely men. It's certainly why I gravitated to him in the first place.
Now I just watch Deranged Doomer because he edits better, is funnier and less miserable about it.

(edit: just trying an Egad stream now and immediately I see an AI thumbnail and an AI animation for the starting soon thing. Dude's so lazy and creatively bankrupt that he can't make a thumbnail without AI-assistance. The Chatgpt theory for his script is really starting to pick up steam for me now. also he streamed with 5 other people so yeah youtube is probably his entire community and social life, despite being 40 or whatever. this is depressing now)
