It has shit ergonomics, it weights more than an AR, and you have to cludge things on to it to make it functional. But you can still have an optic, a laser and whatnot, the same capability as an AR-15.
There's a good reason everyone outside of Russia (and Vietnam and Norks I guess) are moving away from the platform. There are no advantages for an AK in this year. Stamped steel is no longer a thing in weapons manufacturing. We need the modularity that the AK didn't provide, and people using the rifles aren't Soviet peasants.

Vietnam has been acquiring Tavors for the past decade or so but they have been also getting Galil ACEs which are probably the best you can get in AK variants. I can see AKs falling out of favor, especially in the Middle East, due to the huge number of M-4s and M-16A4s we left behind in Afghanistan that have been popping up over the past few years. It's like how the Ford Ranger and Ford F-150 have supplanted the Toyota Hilux in parts of Middle East because of us leaving a ton there.

I used to own a PSA GF5 AK-47 in 7.62×39 that shot multiple 16 MOA groups with AAC “black tip” ammo out of a Ransom Rest, with witnesses at a public range. Worst firearm I have ever used to this day.
