As first lady all she really has to do is smile and look pretty, and let her office take care of the rest. But she deliberately does weird things from time to time. Why? I sort of wonder if it's a malicious compliance, as if she's pissed off with Trump for getting into politics when she just signed up to be married to a rich man. I don't think it's a protest against his policies per se, more just "I never wanted to be FLOTUS". That or maybe she's bored and is trying to be avant-garde.
