Iran Crisis & the 2026 War between Iran and the United States, Gulf States, and Israel - Please focus on news and coverage, not argumentation.

Agreed, and based on the reporting of their targets (hapless local cops and soft targets like local government buildings) the Baloch insurgents aren't coming close to presenting a threat to the regime. They're an annoyance and any important industrial, infrastructure, or IRGC/military seems insulated against their activities.
I actually agree & this is a good thing IMO, a lot of the Baloch separatists are also Islamists (just Sunni, like the Taliban, rather than Shiite Islamists, like the ones in Tehran). If they can further divert & tie down the Iranian Islamists' resources as the country continues to melt down economically & socially, thus making things easier for the opposition forces I would like to see actually win (namely Iranian royalists), without succeeding at breaking off yet another shitty SandMountainniggerstan in a neighborhood that already has quite enough of those - well that would just be a fantastic development as far as I'm concerned.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Just because you do a four year enlistment doesn't mean the government is going to be paying for everything until you die. Please return to /pol/ where you get your talking points and let the people who actually know what they're talking about discuss HAPPENINGS.
I don't want to argue with you, but yes it does mean that. Look at any Caleb Hammer Financial Audit episode. It's full of people who served a year in the reserves, got disabled by depression and anxiety, and now get paid thousands of dollars a month until the end of time.

You can't really deny this is happening. You can certainly deny being aware of it. But this is a huge thing.

I'm sure the zoomer youtuber is telling the whole truth and isn't exaggerating at all for views. Yeah, there are people who do that but it's not the vast majority or even a significant minority of veterans. If you're going to scam the government for fake disability payments joining the military, going through basic, and having a decent chance of being stationed somewhere shitty is the dumbest way to do it. And getting VA benefits that are worth a damn takes years and mountains of paperwork. You aren't going to get $10,000 a month after serving 1 year of your 4 year term because you have depression. Source: I'm lucky enough to not have to deal with the VA but I have many friends and family that had to.

Axios, so probably bullshit, but some hopium for us Bloodfeast chads.
Lol at how he insulted their pedo religion by referring to them as a "stuffed pig."

Right, and this is my point. Realpolitik gave us Vietnam, it gave us 9/11 and the loss of our freedoms and civil liberties that followed, it gave us 20 years of absolute waste in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Neocon thinking and realpolitik also built us a massive empire at the low cost of something like 100k soldiers and money we were spending anyway. America still hasn’t stopped being rich, fuck it hasn’t even stopped being the richest.

Iraq and Afghanistan did have some purpose, the GWOT basically worked, just slowly and without some great final victory. Ultimately the back of international Salafist terror was broken, the gulf monarchies changed course, Iran was deprived of its chance to be a true regional power, Baathist states collapsed one by one, and the biggest powers in the Middle East are explicit US allies. Israel flourished and a new more rational generation of leaders took their place. Even the Taliban is qualitatively different now. Biden cocked up the withdrawal but he was gonna fuck up everything he could, the man has Swiss cheese for a brain.

It’s sad that soldiers die and often for reasons that are ignoble or strange or for some doomed cause with no great redemption or victory at the other side. But that is the core of soldiering. There are very few noble deaths in war, and fewer noble causes, held to by all belligerents. But America defeated international communism in the Cold War through continuous military pressure and locking moribund economies into massive spend offs in R&D and standing armies they couldn’t afford. It was worth it for us. Those countries maybe could have stuck it out just as slowly developing but dysfunctional states, but not in competition with a functional state.
But I'm not sure why UAE needed to pull out if it's fake anyways
There’s cheating or sidestepping your commitments and then there’s saying fuck it the rules don’t apply anymore. Ones more costly than the other. It’s a more complex version of a prisoner’s dilemma. On paper abiding by the cartel agreement keeps you from being punished by the others by them jacking up production or ratfucking your production, and you are capable of getting some extra, but at below market rates, by sidestepping the rules. As long as you’re not getting punished for certain rule breaking moves, it’s good to do them and accept the limited payoffs relative to what you’d get for the same moves without the agreement with the other prisoners. Now that any coercion from the other prisoners is off the table, it’s time to break the agreement.

I'm lucky enough to not have to deal with the VA but I have many friends and family that had to.
You may be upset to learn that a few of your veteran friends are probably welfare queen leeches on the system.

I like your post but the disability situation has changed for the worse in the last 25 years. It is hugely focused around younger veterans. Too many of them are being handed cash and have not earned it. It goes hand-in-hand with the removal of merit over that same period of time.

I would like to not derail the thread but a friend of mine tried to kill himself and after some intense police interference the VA gave him a check. Homie sees ghosts and shit.

The explosion in service-related disability benefits to veterans is real and it's spectacular. Congress is to blame of course - afraid of being tarred as not caring about our brave warfighters or whatever, it has appropriated ridiculous sums to the VA for said benefits and made the standards to qualify ridiculously low. It can be argued that historically the US has generally shortchanged its veterans and it was a good thing to break with that history, but it's over $150 billion a year now being distributed through the VA on these disability gibs. Contrary to popular belief, soldiers aren't stupid, they recognized the opportunity and responded accordingly

You're clearly just repeating what other people say and don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Veterans benefits is a literal drop in the bucket compared to social security, medicaid, and medicare.

Enough about the VA, Iran has unveiled it's new and devastating weapon!

Iran’s Army unveiled, for the first time, a new generation of Arash one-way kamikaze drones, closely resembling Shahed-136 drones, tonight at the Enghelab Sq in Tehran. They paraded it during the daily anti-US/Israeli gathering of Iranians. Imagine getting paid a million rials, about 75 cents, to attend a daily anti-American protest.

IRGC-crafted Front group Harakat Ashab al-Yamin said it was responsible for the stabbing attack against two Jewish men in London today.

➡️ The group described the act of terrorism as “heroic” and called for further attacks against Jews in United Kingdom and Europe

➡️ Ashab al-Yamin urged individuals, particularly Muslims to carry out attacks, and attempts to frame such actions as defending Palestine and al-Aqsa Mosque.

➡️ It also lauded Cole Thomas Allen for his attempted assassination of President Trump.

There was a hearing today with Hegseth and Gen. Caine where a bunch of faggots, brownoid, and femoid congressmen asked stupid questions. None of it is worth posting here.

Props for a well thought out rebuttal, most of the people on this thread haven't been capable of that. I would disagree with your conclusion that it worked though, by pointing out that the US has continued to slide in most measures of freedom over the last 25 years, all while our schools are failing and our middle class is being burdened with ever increasing insurmountable debt and decreased spending power.

I get that younger people don't know what they don't know, but for anybody who was an adult in the 90's they know that we're in much worse shape now as a country than we were. And there is no end to the decline in sight - so I can't call that a win.

Weaponized 3-D painting complete with parallax.

Iran has shifted to a collective wartime leadership dominated by the IRGC and the Supreme National Security Council following the death of Ali Khamenei early in the war, according to Reuters.

➡️ While Mojtaba Khamenei remains formally at the top, sources say his role is largely symbolic, legitimizing decisions made by military leaders rather than directing policy himself.

➡️ On the ground, IRGC Commander-in-Chief Ahmad Vahidi has emerged as a key decision-maker and central figure in negotiations, including during the ceasefire.

➡️ Analysts say the main obstacle to a deal is not internal divisions in Tehran but the gap between U.S. proposals and what hardline IRGC figures are willing to accept.
So the issue isn't internatl divisions, it is that part of the government is taking a hard line and not letting the rest of the government make a deal. Got it, Jan.

Kindly elaborate on the rhetorical tactics that you are trying to gaslight us.

So without simping for Iran, how do we know that cops/basij getting shot is an actual symptom of worsening domestic stability and not the equivalent of pointing out every time a dindunuffin manages to land a bullet in a cop at home?
So first, this isn't just random patrol cops being wasted, nor traffic stop gone wrong. This is like the Rollin' 40s doing drive bys on a corner held LAPD SWAT, and is definitely not a positive sign on law and order.

However, you hit pretty close on the nail in this case: this is in one of the more violent regions of Iran, dealing with ethnic separatists, and isn't too far out of line for a normal Tuesday. So this is hardly a "critical total break down of the states monopoly on violence", but this plus other violence shows the situation is not necessarily developing in Iran's favor.

See @Chuckwagon below:

From what I've read the Baloch insurgency used to be a pretty weak & ineffectual one, usually managing like 3 significant attacks that actually kill Islamist security forces a year (ex. in 2020, '24, etc.). They're ordinarily more of a problem for the Pakis than Iranians, but just from what I & others have found for this thread, it seems they've been more active & gotten more kills in the past 4 months than they usually are in entire years.
This is very solid break down.
The Baloches are very weak, more of an annoyance than a real threat to state power though they have been able to get off some reasonably significant "Part and Parcel" bombings.

Its not eactly hapless local cops. They are manning check points, armed and (if they weren't arabs) would be on alert.

You can't really deny this is happening. You can certainly deny being aware of it. But this is a huge thing.
It does happen, but a lot is being made of the scale. Additionally, Chaptering out a Medical is not always forever gibs. Your case can be reviewed and numbers can be adjusted. I knew a Vietnam Vet who did 3 tours then got out, and went from 60% to 40% based on some fuckity math and was grumbling but didn't really care because he had a day job. One of the guys I knew got out with 30 that was lowered to a 10 (and he fought it and got it back to a 20). No one I knew who wasn't extremely, obviously fucked up got out with a 100.

I'm also going to point out:

unless you went to west point or did something truly amazing, the highest rank you could possibly have on a 4-year stint is E-4. Most likely if you are medicallying out its goign to be as an E-2, maybe an E-3. You are usually going to get a 30 or 40% disability. So tank that pay number, multiply by .40 and you'll see the average malingerer is getting maybe an extra grand or two a month.
this about what they'd be collecting getting a sadbrains SSI tugboat.

More needs to be done to combat it, but its also very touchy when you are grilling actual disabled vets.

lol america thinks it can win this war when iran can get missles and drones within a few nanometers of american battleships
This is an A+ quality shit post that I don't think got enough love for just how subtly well done it was. The layering is amazing.

The military is just a huge lifetime gubmint gibs program now,
Nobody is going to deny there is waste in the military but this is an absurd reduction. The amount of nignogs on military payouts is a tiny fraction of those doing useless government jobs to begin with which is itself a fraction of nignog workers, and both pale in comparison to traditional forms of gibs.

Disproportionately black veterans end up being far more based than the national average black, obviously not all of them but enough that it puts another hole in your retarded theory that the hood is kept alive exclusively by blacks serving in the military.

and none of those expenses are tracked under defense spending.
Yes they are. If the military pays somebody it's considered defense spending.

Furthermore if you're going to obsess over second order effects then by that logic the free emergency room visits they never pay for to fuel their drug habbits. The medical industry is probably the biggest indirect funder of hood behavior, that and just not holding them accountable for their shit.

inb4 it's just a rebranded geran 2/3
The Iranians haven't done much of anything to their Shahed drones so I think it's likely that they're copying the Russians with this new design.

This is patently false. None of that spending is in the annual defense budget. They are 100% separate.
It is. You're just lying. If the US military pays its own staff, or a third party contractor, that is considered defense spending in the budget. Even if the person they're paying is a nigger believe it or not.

You literally just make shit up.

Vice President JD Vance on the recent Atlantic report claiming he has repeatedly questioned Pentagon assessments of the war against Iran:
There's a lot in that Atlantic story that is attributed to people who describe themselves as "Vance advisers."

It could be a random person off the street that I've talked to once at the WHCA dinner. Nobody close to me was speaking to that reporter.

Of course I'm concerned about our readiness because that's my job. It's my job to make sure that we're on top of every issue.

The leader of the Jewish community in Iran pledged allegiance to Iran’s leader, Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei.

During a speech in front of anti-US/Israeli gathering of Iranians, he said:
We are happy that Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, who is the hand-raised disciple of the martyred Imam [Seyyed Ali Khamenei], and has reached this important position and responsibility.

We, the entire society of the Iranian people, along with other communities of the Iranian nation, are happy with this selection and leadership, and we wish them success and glory in this important responsibility.

May we always witness the victory, success, and triumph of our dear country, Iran.

May we, as soon as possible, with the fierce defense that the Iranian nation has shown and the unity that exists among our armed forces, be able to celebrate the victory together as soon as possible. God willing, thank you.

Soon, we’ll reveal a weapon they deeply fear—right on their doorstep.

I hope it doesn’t give them a stroke.
