Where people started talking about different brands of coffee here and their quality, it made me think of Community Coffee back when I was living in Louisiana. It is the official state coffee and it sucks from my perspective growing up in Dunkin' Donuts country back when it was actually pretty good coffee as opposed to the dishwater tasting shit it is today.

It isn't that Community tastes bad, because it doesn't. It actually is a pretty good quality coffee. It is just so lightly roasted that it takes almost twice as much of it to get a decent cup of coffee that doesn't taste watered down. Everyone down there swears by it too. It is actually a cultural faux pas down there to not have Community Coffee in your house for when company comes over even if you don't drink it yourself and prefer another brand.

That being said, if you are ever in Louisiana or the South and someone offers you Community coffee, be prepared for watery coffee.

i think i heard someone say that he was implying or even straight up saying they were going to get it into walmart? if did say that then the whole thing might just have been a farce to scam people out of nonexistent k cup capex and fleece his few real fans with special edition crap that was super overpriced. getting shelf space on walmart is considered the super big leagues for food distribution. you make much smaller margins than you would on local distribution but the sheer scale of walmart is so huge that you can move more volume than any other retail channel but i know of big consumer products companies have dedicated supply chain staff JUST to handle dealing with walmart and have walmart specific packaging skus. maybe walmart does some kind of local products department to try to cater to kind of customer who buys groceries at walmart but also somehow want to support small business lol.

Walmart is weird about shelf space too. When I lived in Louisiana, the city I lived in had three Walmart locations within a few miles of each other. The smallest of the two which was small for southern standards was the size of a Sam's Club in the Northeast and easily pushing 1 and a 1/2 to two times the size of some of the largest Walmarts up there. Each of them had different selections and certain items weren't at one or both of the other locations in the city. I went from going to one Walmart to get what I needed before moving down there to having to go to three of them to get everything. I wouldn't be surprised if it is like that in other areas with multiple Walmarts like that.

You do realize that in those regions of the world where coffee is grown the cost of pretty much everything is cheaper right? You also do realize that those countries have been exploited for decades if not into for well over a century at this point by middlemen who do not actually contribute to the coffee trade as well I'd hope. Fair trade coffee tends to be individual growers or collectives dealing with roasters and coffee shops/companies themselves in a lot of cases. I am talking from small to large. By cutting out all of the middlemen, the growers make substantially more while the ones buying the beans save some money.

On public property, like that is city owned for example, federal like post offices, etc, it is a right to film in public. I will say this in defense for Jeremy, he has in the Tism podcast talked about his dog. The dog had cancer, was operated on but the cancer had spread to its lymph nodes. He was torn if he should give the dog kemo. I am not sure what treatment he went with in the end but he told multiple stories how he spent more time with the dog in its final months.
He brought it to his parents often as a park day, let it swim alot in his back yard pool and wasn't angry but understanding when the dog pissed and shitted all over because it lost control of the bowel movments.
I did not clip this because it was mostly sad.
