Ah, abstract/expressionist art. Some of it can be really good, but a lot of it are just delusional wannabe artists who do shit like the No. 5, 1948 and are really less about having actual talent for creating beautiful pieces of art and more about how talented they are at bullshitting and convincing other people (hopefully someone with a big bank account) the mess they made should somehow be considered a beautiful piece of art and therefore valuable.

If Chris were to somehow gain 100 IQ points (thus bringing him to 105) and were a smoother talker (MUCH smoother), I suppose he could somehow convince a sucker or two to actually buy his "Magnum Opus" on eBay for $100. Thankfully for everyone's sanity, Chris is dumber than a 5 year old (I think I just insulted 5 year olds) and cannot tell a convincing lie to save his life.

That artwork you quoted makes CHRIS look TALENTED. I can't believe I just typed the words Chris and talented in the same sentence.

Was sold for 140 million dollars.

On the left is a work by Picasso. It can be either a man, a woman, an Orc or some sort of retarded radiated buttgoblin from the general vicinity of Chernobyl. On the left is a work by Chris, depicting a male pokemon hedgehog carrying a female pokemon hedgehog.

It's very clear what Chris was trying to portray, and he did so quite accurately. What the hell Picasso was thinking, we may never know. I think we all know who the better artist is here, if are honest to ourselves. :ween:

For shame Pally!!

And as much as I will rail against shit like the No. 5, 1948, I still find it infinitely more interesting and less appalling to look at than any of Chris' artwork.

Picasso stayed in the lines at least.

I agree. I admit to quite liking Jackson Pollack's work as it's interesting to look at.

I will let myself be trolled.

At the risk of sounding like a pretentious hipster douchebag...when I look at the Picasso, I see multiple levels of complexity. There are complementary shapes and colors, positive and negative areas, and when you look closer you make out the figure. The figure conveys the ideas of movement and emotion, while still being abstract enough that it doesn't draw away from the basic shapes and colors of the painting. It's a beautiful painting. I'd hang it in my house.

When I look at Chris's drawing I see a shitty cartoon character and crippling autism. Shit tons of autism. The autism reaches off the paper and gropes you with attraction sign-levels of tardiness. It's horrible. I wouldn't wipe my ass with this. It might give my roids autism.

Better artist. Shit.

When I look at Chris' art I see multiple layers of mental retardation. I see a ruined childhood. Faded youth. Disappointment. Childish enthusiasm. I see bent pickles, I see a grown man's best imaginary friend. I see tragedy. I see layers.

When I look at Chris' art I see an old man's dreams shattered. I see the hope of having a chill son you would like to have a cold beer with, broken. Chris' art is the physical manifestation of the heartbreak of having a son like Chris. It's deep shit and rustles jimmies like there ain't no tomorrow.

Multiple level of mentally challenged complexity. Picasso ain't go shit on Chris and you know it.

Probably because the artist wasn't a demanding little turd who threatened CREASE DAMAGE if his demands of high bidding were not met. Potential bidders don't like being berated and threatened.

In my mind that's what separates someone like Picasso from the many wannabes. Picasso was a genuinely talented artist who wanted to do something different, while the many, many imitators that are out there talentless assholes with delusions of grandeur.

Just forget about the quality of the artwork and simply compare them this way... Being able to convince many that it's a magnificent piece and worth a shit ton of $$$????

Winner: Picasso

He'd also be able to get their address and phone number through eBay and possibly Paypal. Basically, he'd have a lot of info on his hands if someone used their real eBay/Paypal accounts. I'm not sure exactly how much info sellers get since I've never sold, but I know eBay requires all that stuff to be listed.
PO box and a skype number. I mean, it's a few bucks, but getting some sweet, original Chandlers (if that's your bag) can be cheap without having to expose your info to a bitter CWC.
