Canada is a failed state

At work so maybe someone can depaywall this but the title was enough to make me throw up

"Canada urges to open up new Permanent Resident Program to all temporary workers"

Lol, lmao even
I hate to drag Rome's name through the mud by comparing it to somehwere as lame and gay as canada but we really are heading in the same direction with all this shit

Canada is at 18 while Amerikkka is at 24, so not the progressive utopia people claim. Also let's be honest we're probably below Amerikkka in terms of happiness right now, since many of these studies are biased against Amerikkka while being biased towards a left wing country like Canada, yet they're barely below Canada. So one could only imagine the real rating for Canada.
It's worth noting that these happiness indexes show a generational disparity in happiness scores. Boomers show much more life satisfaction than Millennials or Gen Z in Canada, which is tied to cost of living, the job market, etc. Of course, the Boomers who voted Liberal in 2025 climbed the ladder in the 80s and 90s pulled it up after them because they care about their own comfort more than their own children and grandchildren.

Everyday my rage for Canadian boomers grows. I wish nothing but the worst on them, especially the die hard elbows up crowd. Mark Carney is an absolute fucking disaster and only a devoted cult member cannot see it.

Alleged Inappropriate Distribution of List of Electors

April 30, 2026

No breach of Elections Alberta databases or systems

EDMONTON, AB – It has come to Elections Alberta’s attention an inappropriate use and/or distribution of the List of Electors by a legitimate list recipient may have occurred. Despite our Offices being legislatively prohibited from commenting about investigations we may or may not be conducting, Albertans should know that Elections Alberta takes this matter seriously. Due to the extremely sensitive nature of the information contained in the List of Electors, we believe it is critical for Albertans to be aware. Elections Alberta is taking every possible action to determine if this has taken place and, if so, to protect and recover the information.

There has been no breach of Elections Alberta’s databases or systems. The unfolding situation is believed to involve a third party and to have occurred as a result of the inappropriate use and/or distribution of the list of electors by a registered political party that was a legitimate recipient of the list.

Elections Alberta is working with other appropriate agencies on this matter and has notified the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

The Election Act legislates the contents, distribution, protection of, and use of the provincial List of Electors. This is extremely sensitive data, and there are many safeguards to ensure it is only provided to the entities and individuals entitled under law to receive it and used only as expressly permitted in the Act. Specific security features are added to each list provided to eligible recipients allowing Elections Alberta to identify who received each specific copy of the list.

Section 19.1 of the Election Act sets out the requirements that a person or registered party must follow regarding protection of the list. Recipients of the list must take all reasonable steps to protect the List of Electors and the information contained in it from loss and unauthorized use. They must immediately notify Elections Alberta if the list or information has been lost. A person or MLA may NOT share the list or the information with anyone for any use not expressly authorized in Section 20 of the Election Act.

UPDATE: Unauthorized Use of List of Electors

April 30, 2026

EDMONTON, AB – Elections Alberta is taking seriously the unauthorized use of the Republican Party of Alberta’s copy of the List of Electors by the Centurion Project Ltd.

Elections Alberta is limited in commenting publicly about investigations that we may or may not be conducting. However, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has a fundamental responsibility to protect and safeguard the information contained within the List of Electors. We wish to reinforce that Elections Alberta is taking every possible action to protect and recover the information.

Further, we wish to reiterate that the Election Act legislates the contents, distribution, protection, and use of the provincial List of Electors. This is sensitive data, and there are many safeguards to ensure the List is only provided to the entities and individuals entitled under the law to receive it and is used only as expressly permitted in the Act.

Specific security features are added to each list provided to eligible recipients allowing Elections Alberta to identify who received each specific copy of the list.

Timelines and actions
We wish to update Albertans on timelines and steps that have been taken to resolve this issue.

On April 27, 2026, credible information was obtained suggesting the Centurion Project may be in possession of the List of Electors provided to a registered political party that was a legitimate recipient of the list. Inquiries into the validity of this information began immediately.

On April 28, 2026, the Chief Electoral Officer wrote to individuals associated with the Centurion Project to advise them that if they were accessing a List of Electors, they must immediately cease and desist.

On April 29, 2026, representatives from Elections Alberta, supported by members of the Edmonton Police Service, attended a meeting of the Centurion Project Ltd. being held in Edmonton, to ensure the cease and desist letter was received.

Event organizers were once again advised, and a copy of this directive was personally served to a representative of the Centurion Project, to immediately cease and desist accessing any information contained in the List of Electors.

On the morning of April 30, 2026, representatives from Elections Alberta and legal counsel attended Court of Kings Bench in Edmonton and applied for an ex parte emergent injunction to prohibit any further access to or use of the List of Electors. The Justice granted this injunction and the Centurion Project Ltd. is further prohibited from engaging in these extremely serious activities.
Still learning about this but some people are claiming it puts in question the legitimacy of the collected signatures for the petition. I'm sure they can easily verify that, if only by noting the mismatches where people moved since the last election and didn't update their address to match the address they used for the signing.

The organization involved in this little scandal is different from the one involved with the signature-gathering. Won't stop government media from linking them, of course.

With how dogshit the Oilers defense and goaltending was this year, I'm not surprised at all. I was hoping they would make it to the second round and expected they would get knocked out then, but whatever.

Oddly enough, the Oilers are a perfect analogy for Canada. They have the resources to win but their management does the opposite of what they need to succeed.

Liberals love to use the Injun treaty argument to be against Alberta succession.

Its easy to counter argue. Who cares. Treaties are not forever and constantly broken. The largest invasion in history started when Nazi Germany broke it's peace treaty with the Soviet Union.

Liberals are like children.

Plus a good counter argument is to look at BC where the government basically gave control of governing the province to the natives and the natives won't relinquish their power
I consider Canada's recent sports losses the product of the Carney curse. Him wearing an Oilers tie at a press conference felt like a bad omen.
It's probably that the players are no longer motivated to win for this "post national economic zone"

That's one of the main talking points the APP has to bring up constantly. Treaties 6, 7 & 8 had the tribes cede their land ownership to the government and the 1930 Natural Resource Transfer Agreement had the federal government give control of said land to Alberta. They can bitch in their teepees all they want, they gave up their land.

Guys, guys... Carney just needs more time, dontchaknow? He's only been PM for like a year, what did you want him to do? You're being unreasonable. What's he supposed to do? Snap his fingers and somehow cut red tape, speed up processes, dismantle costly and ineffective bureaucracies, negotiate a deal with the US, stop hiring overpriced consultants, balance the budget, pay off the deficit? He'd have to be some sort of leader to do that. A leader with extraordinary executive power.

Come on. What, you think Maple MAGA would have done better?
