After all the shit that's happened since GG, I wouldn't really consider it a psy-op. Rather, I'd say it was basically similar to how feminism moved from actual issues that might affect women to retarded shit like "ACs are sexist" or morphing into the pro-troon "suck the feminine penis or you're sexist" insanities (also fragmenting into the troon activists and TERFs and shit).
GG similarly achieved its main goals of "accountability in games journalism"; getting most all those journalism outlets to update their rules and regs, and utterly shitting on the ones which wouldn't like Gawker or that one run by Leigh Alexander. Problem was, the people who became most famous off this whole thing (Sargon, Jim, Ralph, etc.) moved on from specifically games journalism to politics in general, which went the whole gamut. Around this same time, Donny boy jumped into the culture war and made people think he was the 'based' candidate who was against these feminists and shit (he was, but that doesn't mean he was supporting the more actual liberal/actual conservative people...fag was still out for himself), so most of these youtubers hitched themselves to MAGA.
Since then, it's been a slippery slope of retardation and acceleration of all these faggots thanks to "MAGA" that at this point has no connection to GG whatsoever, just like what happened with the feminists, but in the opposite direction.

In retrospect, the Biden administration feels like a third Trump term for all intents and purposes. Biden kept fucking up while Trump’s chickens came home to roost. But the inflation was by far the worst one and that was started by Jerome Powell in August of 2020.

I’m still not convinced it wasn’t at least somewhat of a psyop, especially with what we now know about Epstein’s involvement with online discourse… maybe not a government psyop, but a psyop none the less. Gamergate always felt just as cringe and histrionic as the “point of privilege” style of SJW shit, and neither of those movements feel organic enough to have just sprung up in a vacuum. Even though I agree with the alleged sentiment of “ethics in journalism,” it never felt genuine coming from the people who were pushing it the hardest. It definitely feels like there was some major fuckery going on behind the scenes.

Trump fucked up the COVID response, and that led to a fucked up economy. It would have been even more fucked up if Trump had won the 2020 election.
