i can, actually, when you look at the full context of the situation:
he's a controversial political figure with lots of haters, no doubt there have been plenty of death threats against him over the years, and she is a political activist aligned with his enemies, going to his private residence with the intention of fucking with him.
i doubt he invited her in, or that she could reasonably claim any motive for visiting him that doesn't boil down to "i wanted to fuck with the guy" so it's reasonable for him to assume that she did not come to him with friendly intentions.
"unarmed" does not play a role at this point because there's no way for him to know that in the moment (it's not like there's a TSA crew at his door that searches and clears visitors before they get to him)
basically a boogie and frank hassle situation again, except this time it wasn't just about petty internet drama but potentially serious political animosity, the kind that has already resulted in mulitiple (attempted) homicides over the past few years. plus the catboy didn't escalate to the point of immediately shoving a gun into her face like boogie did, so him being let off easy makes perfect sense to me.
