Yeah, It wouldn't even really change much, just a simple rephrasing of what's going on at the castle before you get there. I think Nintendo made a very conscious decision to have her active because they didn't want her to appear helpless. It never really bothered me that she was holding Ganon in place for the entirety of the game when I was playing, but it seems like it bothers some people enough to say it was the wrong choice from a story perspective.
It's moreso an issue with "how the fuck is she doing this". Zelda (outside of the nuLore) isn't some Godly being, she may hold a Triforce piece, but she's always been as mortal as Link or anyone else. Giving her the ability to just "become bullshit light" for a century brings up so many issues about what the fuck she even is. I've brought this up before, if she can just become light and live without aging, what the fuck does that mean for the story, she wasn't put into stasis like Link (though that has its own fucky wucky problems). She can seemingly expend enough power to fight off Ganon by herself - for a century - and be no worse for wear. It's an issue of stakes and consequences.
Some people gave Twilight Princess shit for having the balls to seemingly "kill off" the title character midway through the game, but reversing that decision by the end. Fair enough. But Ubisoft Zelda did that not once, but TWICE. BOTW Zelda unlocks her sealing powers and bullshits herself into light for a century, seemingly erasing herself from the world, a great sacrifice to keep Ganon at bay until Link healed and could slay the monster. That would have been great. But no, as soon as Ganon is gone - poof, there she is, perfectly healthy and ready to be waifu'd, no consequences. TOTK is even worse. It is stated that turning into an immortal dragon basically brings ego death and you can never ever go back to being human, it is super for real no takesies backsies, you are forever a dragon end of story. And what happens? Zelda makes a supposed ultimate sacrifice for Link and Hyrule, becomes a dragon... but then at the end of the game - poof, there she is, perfectly healthy and ready to be waifu'd, again, no consequences.
If I'm to believe that TP deserves to get shit for what it did with Zelda, that means Ubisoft Zelda deserves it twice as bad considering what it does.
