Aside from like 1 unaccounted for submarine and some suicide drones, this is what we mean when we say "Iran has no navy".

Forget the USN.
Forget even the USCG.
Fucking Florida Fish and Wildlife arguably has a bigger navy than Iran at this moment.

This is not to say that there aren't things Iran can do to threaten USN ships, and especially civilian ships (as proven by Ukraine buck-breaking the Black Sea Fleet with what amounts to explosives on RC boats), including a remaining component of land-based drones and missiles.

But this is also why we say "Iran has no navy" and can only roll our eyes and leave trashcan reacts when smuglords show up and use some IRCG firing his AK in the general direction of a jeetship as proof the US is lying and Iran totally has a navy left over.

We could probably just send in the Cajun Navy, assuming we were okay with everything that swims in the Persian Gulf getting turned into gumbo. They're about as picky as the Chinese are, after all.

the source for the above picture is from a russian mil blog in 2023 but its now deleted so its just the thumbnail that has been saved, I cant zoom in anymore but im almost confident I can make out the same checkered blue and while "tiling" along the edge of the pier

The counter this point, the US obliterated Irans war industry hitting drone factories, missile factories, university technology r&d centers for weapons, its all gone. Had they not done that, Iran could cobble together more shitty munitions to lob at the Gulf states. Irans navy is also gone. It don't exist no more. Destroyed in the opening months. All they have are these fast attack boats with Soviet rocket launchers, machine guns and at most, 2 large anti-ship missiles, mines and some torpedo capability. Hohols btfo.

Given the accuracy and range of US guided bombs and missiles, the large ships capable of damage are sitting ducks. Even the smaller, more maneuverable ships are the same type of go-fast cartel boats we've been blowing up. The only tactic is to overwhelm the US boats but the only ships that could reliability do it are armed with MANPADS, machine guns and cheap rockets on a good day. Iran would loose a ton of these boats just to damage one destroyer. Not ideal. These small boats are essentially human-piloted drones.

In theory Iran could drop mines and box US ships in and make them unable to move but everything is cozy in the Gulf so this would be done at great cost with an audience of everyone in the Gulf. Its not sustainable. Best case scenario for Iran is they sink or damage 3 US destroyers and take out a few drones and planes. Its not going to shift the tides of the war in their favor in any way shape or form. A-10s will eat these boats for lunch.

Torpedos and sea drones are a bigger threat IMO but Iran doesn't seem to have invested in that technology enough to pose a threat. The only large threat I see from Iran is if they used their 358 missiles, which are jet powered loitering SAMs and took out American air assets from the coast or mounted launchers on the large ships.

The US has had keyhole satellites watching the gulf for decades now. They've watched and seen construction of these bases in real time and could evaluate how deep they are based on how much dirt was moving daily. Iran shows off these technicals during Great Prophet exercises so you can also see how many boats come and go out of a base.

Priorities. Irans war machine, missile sites and nuclear bases > some shitty technicals. Trump also likely thought a deal would be reached before Iran was stupid enough to resort to the suicide boats.
 
Why haven't we bombed all of their speedboats anyway?, I thought we were looking to obliterate their ENTIRE Navy and their shitty little boats still have the capacity to actually turn tankers back.

Ceasefire is (technically) still in effect, despite Iran throwing the kitchen sink at the UAE.

Should hostilities resume I don't think the fishing boats with AK's welded to the front are gonna last very long against a non-civilian ship that has actual armaments.

Our requirements for a foreign leader pretty much consist of "Don't chimp out and start shit with us or our friends". Its such a low bar you'd think people would be able to easily cross it, but you'd be surprised how many people can't help but chimp out at the USA or people we're on good terms with for one reason or another.

Combo of ceasefire and how the USN understands that sandnigger mosaic defense doesn't work.

You literally had Iran chuck drones at the UAE for like 11 hours when the ceasefire was announced. Iran doesn't have the ability to coordinate a big attack without issues of logistics. I doubt they have warehouses dedicated to FEMA-like disaster relief.
