What's your favorite brand? I'm partial to Red Boat but probably just because it isn't as fishy as Squid.
I like almost any kind from Taste of Thai (because it is available everywhere) to stuff I don't even know what it's called because it's in moon runes. I generally prefer the clear varieties, but sometimes, the moon rune varieties that are opaque and chunky with visible bits of fish in them are great too.

I went to the fridge to take a pic of the label but apparently I'm entirely out of fish sauce. Wow.

Guess I'm ordering some Red Boat. I've heard it recommended a lot and intended to, but never got around to it. I haven't seen it around here, so off to Amazon.

(Actually I do have some colatura di alici. But no Asian sauces.)

I put Red Boat in everything except chili. Now chili, too.

I use Squid brand fish sauce from the Asian market. Fuck only knows what's in it (squid?).

It's pretty fun to buy mystery ingredients from the Asian market and figure out how to use them. I actually bought what I thought was rice winegar and it turned out to be chinese cooking wine. I use it in General Tao Chicken.

I actually bought a rather expensive variant a while ago and have been hoarding it rather than opening it. It's well regarded though. I guess I'll have the opportunity to use it while waiting for the Red Boat to come in.
