Oh she definitely could force fatty to get a job. She just hasn't reached that level of necessity yet. If it ever got to that point, I'd be interested to see how she handles the "I can't work, but you, Chrissy, have to work" issue.

Chris can't openly defy his mother, but he sure can lie to her. He would just stop showing up for whatever job she got him and see how long he could go before she caught on. He'd leave for work every day and just while away his hours at whatever food joint or stores haven't banned him yet.

But will she ask for a paycheck? That's the question.

I don't think he'd do that, because he just knows, factually, that Barb will flip when the workboat stops coming in. And his fear of Barb is more important than his desire to be lazy. (But of course, he does love being lazy.)

"Was wondering if you'd be doing smaller prints for less $$$, would love to commission something fairly small and pay for it, but $1,000 is way too high."

Well, with eBay constantly removing my listing for this SAME, SINGULAR ARTWORK Four Times the past week, and the offer-maker who offered 1,000 on the last listing Totally Bailed! I am super frustrated and I am just SET on one thousand or bust on this SAME drawing what my venture with it having been Really Too Much. And my mother and I REALLY NEED THE MONEY. Please Buy and Pay in Full Now!

Arright, let's polish this turd:

Well, with eBay constantly removing my listing for this lot four times in the past week, and with a buyer who previously offered $1,000 completely pulling out, it's been a very trying ordeal selling my most current piece. I've become quite vexed, and as a sop to my emotions I am determined to make $1,000 on this sale. No lesser amount will satisfy my disappointment. Added to which my mother and I really need the money, so buy the item and pay in full now!

And so we see that Chris's answer, once translated into English, does not even begin to address the question of whether he would do commissions of smaller prints. He's gonna be a rich man, he is.

A look at the "similar listings"
The Valkyrie is my favorite.

Ok, no, so, Chris doesn't want money. He wants easy money.

Being reasonable and making more drawings is exactly on par with telling Chris to get a job.

Really, considering his goals, a BIN sale on ebay, with one picture, is the most reasonable thing for Chris to do. He can either make $1k, or he can make nothing, but then he's right back where he started. So, whatever.

But he wouldn't even have to make more! He could sell drawings he already has, all of which would be worth more than this one, bringing his total workload up to "occasionally mail things" with eventually the same amount of profit. He probably wouldn't even have to frame them.

Whoah! Making demands, whining, AND a pity ploy all in the same sentence! Chris is obsessed in selling this for a full grand and Reality be damned! It's now his honor on the line here.

Well, with those ridiculous conditions that he's setting down, I guess the result is gonna be "BUST!" then isn't it? Looks like Chris will have to kick himself until he is SERIOUSLY tired for being arrogant and greedy.

No one's sure (Except may Skyraider) what he has and doesn't have, but I believe that all of his drawings burned up in the Great House Fire of 2013.

I wonder if Chris would even last in North Korea. I think Kim Jong Un would have him executed... unless North Korea needs their own manchild...
Keep in mind that the North Korean regime is hideosly racist in addition to being despodic. They'd probably use him and Dennis Rodman as examples of how they are "the cleanist race".
EDit: Granted, I can't be sure of the veracity of tvtropes as a source. The North Korea page is apparently one of like 3 pages where you don't have to pull your punches.

This is it exactly. You could tell Chris that he might be able to make $50 a drawing for 20 drawings, but $1,000 for one drawing won't get him anything. But the only comparison his rat brain would make is "do 20 drawings / do one drawing". Why should he work on 20 pieces if he can skip 19 of them? He doesn't consider the factors that aren't convenient to him. That no one would ever pay $1,000 is something he doesn't like, therefore he assumes it doesn't matter.

I can think of a few pages from Genesis of the Lovehogs alone that would get him into three figures each from weens and unironic followers. He's sitting on some real cash, if he actually is still sitting on the folder of original sonichus. I could also see them being in the hands of some crafty urban explorer after Chris left them sitting in his room while grabbing at legos instead.

But here's the rub. Chris is fully expecting it to be sold and to be sold for $1000 dollars, guaranteed. There is no alternative outcome on this for Chris as far as he has decided for himself. He feels that this money is as good as his within the week.

WHEN Chris doesn't sell it, he is going to absolutely hate all of Humanity more than ever before because of it . He WILL go onto Facebook to berate and abuse everyone for being so heartless and uncaring towards that poor suffering trannie and his corpulent mother, and then a mass curse-ye-ka-me-ha will be hurled forth at 7 billion humans around the world. The entire planet MUST be punished for this outrage!
