Plus, most of them don't want to go to the effort of actually passing. Passing requires hard work to be even partially successful. Better to just go to the bare minimum of effort and then demand that everyone pretends you're a kawaii anime princess while you lumber around and try to disguise your bald patch.
Sophie's run out of ideas. Basically every comic is "here is a problem trans people have (except it isn't really a problem unless you run into this particular strawman)" or "here is a thing I would like to happen to me." Sometimes both, as with the "ugh I can't believe you're getting pissy about my rape by deception" comic. By this stage, most artists would have developed their characters enough to get more complex stories going, but the cast of AM has no traits beyond "Sophie," "Sophie (as she wishes she was)," "Strawman" and "person Sophie wants to fuck." There's better character developments in the edits here, and I am not joking.
