Boomer Hate Thread

  • The Kiwi Farms was targeted with a historic DDoS attack last week. Confirmed reports of 2.8Tbps on an individual provider, topping 4.8Tbps when known volumes are added together, and possibly up to 8Tbps if the attacker is believed. This is the third of fourth largest recorded.

Rockism is a mental disorder and we can only pray that it dies with the boomers. Good riddance.
when the final boomer dies a breath of relief will sound throughout the western world. no longer will we need to have every music conversation center around all those shitty rock bands like Beatles or Zeppelin or Hendrix or Queen or all those faggy 80s hair bands. we can be at peace...

What really gets me about Boomers is they need to turn everything in a pissing match where they are on top. It doesn't matter how petty of a comparison it is, they are the ones above them. You had a rough day at work, well they had to walk around on their knees while getting whipped 30 hours a day. You're having a medical issue, well they have every illness known to man and 3 known only to fish. You're on a shoe string budget, well they had to eat their shoes because they had their floor repossessed! I don't know if it's a need to exert power, preserve their ego, or some kind of fetish, but what I do know is that Boomers fucking hate the idea of anyone else not suffering.
A simple, “no, I do not want to hear it” would’ve sufficed. I hate when people do that.

In 10 years almost half of them will be dead, statistically. but with current technology the last won't die out until around 2080 and at that point they will have been totally irrelevant for decades.

It is just survivorship bias. All of the bad songs from the past are just easier to never hear or talk about.
This is the same argument as “there’s good music today.” I’m not arguing the good stuff is what survived, the 70’s had Disco whose death can literally marked to the minute, but it ignores the second half in that you need to actually present good music that exists today; of which there is still, mathematically, a smaller concentration of.

Every time I'm seeing a specialist. To get my health checked out because of a history of certain things in my family. There's always 4 boomers there. Regardless of any time of day. Do these people just live at the doctor's office?

We can condemn the boomers for many things but their taste in music is not one of them. Maybe we can condemn them for not liking classic music enough.

The doors are great.
That fag pajeet in queen has an amazing voice.
The Pogues are great.
Creedence is great.

The problem is the music they then created produced and filterered is the problem.

Beatles fucking suck though.

Boomers have the comprehension level of the most trashy ghetto blacks when it comes to the concept of civics and the same level of civic duty:

"Durrr, the school tax I pay doesn't benefit ME directly, why should I pay for maintaining the quality of the community I live in?!"

The concept of everyone pitching in to ensure that the entire town is maintained is foreign and disgusting to them.

Those old retards don't understand that if the kids aren't in school, even if they're illiterate and incapable of doing basic math and still graduating (and we all know which group that is), they're going to be somewhere else; that somewhere else just might be a boomers front lawn (meticulously maintained by cheap, illegal Mexicans), and the kids aren't there to sell Girl Scout cookies or collect donations for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes like their Leave it to Beaver Americana fantasies they believe still exists - they're bored and hormonal. And it won't end well.

Tbf most Boomers and Xers can only feel something if they're looking at or listening to a vinyl record of a band they recognize from their youth. I think people listened to music differently back then or some shit because they get way too worked about about Music™️
Fuck you.

I mean you're right but fuck you anyway.

If drugs form the backbone of your health, you have utterly failed at the most important aspect of life.
I'm I supposed to believe you have never ever taken an antibiotic or a pain killer such as Tylenol?
I interpret the issue to be the drugs being called "the backbone" i.e the thing your health completely relies upon, rather than "you are never allowed to take prescription medication for any reason".

Perhaps I should have said 'The backbone of the public health system', but judging by the reactions, most people understood as much.

I don't think the boomer die-off will be as consistent or as soon as you think. My entirely anecdotal observation is that the "late" boomers are somehow in better health relative to "early" boomers at the same age. For whatever reason, the 1945-1950 boomers seem to have aged the worst of all boomers, and NOT just because they are the oldest, I mean this segment of boomers was still unhealthy 20 years ago, and Late boomers are healthier now than Early boomers were 20 years ago.

Thus, the "early" boomers born 1945-1950 or so, will almost certainly die off within 10-15 years, but the "late" boomers born post-1960 seem to be healthier on average compared to early boomers at their age, and will probably live a lot longer.

1950s boomers can go either way.

So yes, a lot of boomers will die in 10 years, but at the same time I can totally see a significant amount of boomers living well past 2060.

Edit: When you consider that life-extending care is one of the few areas of medicine that continues to make significant strides, this may sound less far-fetched.

This is something that keeps haunting me. Talk to a boomer, they talk about how little money they got when they started working. I put it into an inflation calculator, and lo and behold, it's way more than starting wages nowadays. But apparently grasping inflation, just like conditional hypotheticals, seems to filter out everyone under +2sd intelligence.
Boomers are unable to grasp that they lived through a historical aberration, and when you tell them you don't trust that their advice will hold up over the long haul they start frothing at the mouth about listening to your elders.
You live in a rental. They tell you to get a starter house. Then through the magic of ever inflating house prises you will ten years later get a McMansion. You tell them it will take you ten years to save for the down payment. When you save for five years the house prices inflates faster than you can save so after five tears of saving you are still ten years away. Just put it on a savings account and compund interest will save you. You tell them that a savings account is net negative interest due to inflation. They tell you to put it in stocks because stocks always go up. Just before you liquididate the stock market crashes. They tell you that past performance is no guarantee of future performance. Just get a starter house.
I love my parents dearly, and they're genuinely good people. But they still have minds tainted by Boomerthink.

They don't get that our generation (millenial, in the case of my brother and I) have had to work twice as hard to get half as far in life as them.

Do you ever look back on the world run by Boomers and wonder how the fuck they didn't all kill themselves out of sheer stupidity?
I remember being a kid when Mad Cow Disease was a big scare and I still cannot believe the Boomers in charge seriously thought "well what if we just fed the cows chopped up dead cows! Genius! It'll save a ton of money!"
Like, what the actual hell were they smoking?

Boomers, and especially liberal boomers, cannot comprehend any reality where they are not the smartest and highest forms of life to ever walk the earth. They are a generation with incurable Protagonist Syndrome.

They inherited the fruits of their parents' hardships, and then took that for granted as a sign of their own vicarious infallibility.

The concept that they could be wrong is literally unthinkable to them, like dividing by zero.
