What are everyone's thoughts on the stuff shown at E3 this year? Personally, I can't wait for 50 more gritty urban warfare shooters, half of which have the name Tom Clancy slapped on them for no reason.

Xbox conference was meh, but at least The Witcher 3 and a new Crackdown game are cool.
The new Criterion game from EA conference looks fun too. A spiritual successor to Burnout.
Didn't pay much attention to Ubisoft.

As I'm typing right now, they're showing a brand new LittleBigPlanet for the PS4. Any bets OPC will jump on this, assuming he still wants to create shit?
 
GTA5's PC port was announced officially


As was a remake of Grim Fandango
 
The conferences were pretty... Bland. It probably doesn't help that the Internet leaks everything but there were a few genuine surprises, like I'd think that GTA would have been left on last gen but I can see that Rockstar loves money (I know I'll be stupid enough to buy it again).

What I missed was the Kinect. Not that it's a good peripheral by any means, but dragging up actors on stage to fling their arms around... That is amazing.

One thing Rockstar likes more than almost any other dev/publisher is re-releases. They've rereleased their GTA3 trilogy numerous times on different devices. As well, every mainline GTA game has always been released on PC. Just there's always been about a year of a delay between the console release and the PC release.

GTA5 being on PC was inevitable. Rockstar knows just how huge the fanbase for their games on PC is, considering they've always released on that platform in the past. The only reason people suspected it wouldn't get ported was due to RDR staying on consoles.

I loved Journey when it first came out, I'm looking forward to this game. :)

Other than that, so far, nothing else has caught my eye so far. Besides the new trailer for the Ratchet and Clank movie.

I'm kinda easy to please so overall I've enjoyed the conferences this E3. But since this is the internet and we have to rate everything... conferences from most liked to least liked...

1) Ubisoft - I always like Ubisoft if only because they continually bring something new and surprising to the table, this year being Rainbox Six: Siege which actually looks like it could be fun. Far Cry 4 and AC: Unity are looking pretty fun, albeit more of the same just with shinier graphics. Plus I'm sorry to anyone who disagrees, but Aisha Tyler is probably the only host I've continuously enjoyed each year across the board.
2) Microsoft- They didn't do anything exemplary, but what they did do is realize that people that come to this event are interested in games and that is what they delivered, and without any goddamn stupid child actors, tech gimmicks, or anything that had made the last three or four E3s for Microsoft especially cringeworthy. Plus bonus points for the big piece of humble pie they were chewing on throughout the conference.
3) EA- for actually making me excited about a fucking Battlefield game. Unfortunately, outside of some stuff for Dragon Age: Inquisition, nothing else was especially memorable other than looong loooong tirades of sports games... oh and that awkward segway where some UFC guy came in and demanded to take out imaginary Bruce Lee or something. That was weird...
4) Sony- granted, after last year's E3, there was no way they could've topped the curb stomping they gave Microsoft. But this year it wasn't necessarily bad, but it all felt like leftovers Destiny is becoming more and more Borderlands without the fun. The Order isn't doing anything for me other than looking pretty. The demo players for Little Big Planet only made me resent the game for how badly they played, Suda51 has finally made a game I don't give a shit about, and Bloodborne is okay, but because I'm not surgically attached to From Software's cock, I'm pretty much indifferent about it. Oh, and taking 20 minutes to talk about gadgets and a Sony-direct TV show after a fucking Bendis comic? Fuck that.

Whining notwithstanding, today was a good albeit not explosive E3. I'll be tuning in to see what Nintendo has up their sleeve tomorrow.
 
It sure is great that Nintendo decided to use Smash Bros to cash in on that Skyladders money. Gotta fill your house with little plastic statues at $6 a pop, because there's nothing I love more than paying good money so I can watch my video game play attract mode.

Do you guys remember the days when E3 would show all new games? When half the titles shown weren't just re-releases or ports of games we've already been playing for 2 or 3 years?

Good times.

The main games I'm most excited about are Far Cry 4, Batman: Arkham Knight, and Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth.

The 3DS is Nintendo's bread and butter right now. In terms of finances it's dominating in the UK and overseas.

I do expect Nintendo will keep supporting the Wii U for a while, and will probably make a new console in a few years. But the 3DS is a reason why people should not underestimate them.

With the Wii U it's likely when they create a new Super Smash Brothers game that it'll start to pick up in terms of sales. But it's very unlikely to ever overtake the PS4 and Xbox one at this point.
