Oh yeah, that's the thing that impresses/scares me. It's a botched result, but it's not quite as awful as some of the end-results people feel inclined to post on reddit and elsewhere. And yet, it's about the best you could ask for when you're following the direction of a bunch of deeply mentally unstable people and going to a back-alley doctor in a foreign country to hide the fact you're having cosmetic surgery.

After finding these sorts of threads on here and elsewhere on the internet, reading up about trans HRT and surgery, having trans people I've met and trans people I'm acquainted with through others causing needless drama and posting nudes on facebook. I'm finding it really hard to come to any other conclusion that this is a mental illness.

According to many doctors and other medical professionals I've got it all wrong though.

I just keep hoping that things change and we stop encouraging parents to put kids on puberty blockers and allow them to be set up to get butchered. On Tumblr kids act like puberty blockers are nothing and they are spreading all kinds of false information to each other about that and hormones. They're drawing popular characters as trans wearing binders like it's cute and showing off top surgery scars. all of these echo chambers are just reinforcing mental illness.

I don't think the larger part of society is going to accept trans people. So many of them seem absolutely insane.

Another thing I noticed is that a lot of people just straight up ask, "Do you think I'll pass? Should I start HRT? Do you think it will actually do anything?" If you are honestly trans, you wouldn't even ask these questions. Your goal isn't to pass, it's to eliminate sex dysphoria if you truly have it. Asking random strangers if you should start HRT just gives it away that you're treating this like a drug to use recreationally because it's trendy.

Actually, if you are encouraging a mentally troubled person who thinks they might have gender dysphoria (but in the end hasn't), that they should transition, it's you who pushes those people towards suicide.

Judging by the irrational behavior of many of them, I think they have bigger problems being accepted than just their identity. Their identity is small fry compared to say, pulling an Alex Mauer or Leah Rowe.
