How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

Bob says more people are fleeing Obsolete America for cities when the exact opposite is happening.

Over the last four years, eight million people moved out of California.

Yeah most are fleeing those areas simply because of high taxes, and being business unfriendly. The only reason most of those regions grow high is because you still have the deluded individual believes that they have to be there for their tech startup or due to high immigration

I love how Bob talks about people from Middle America as if they are obsolete and meaningless. Bob is really showing his classist colors right now and it is strange when Bob is probably lower-middle class at best. I wonder what Bob's tune would be if his 20 year plan to the "Superior Future" would lead to legions apawn legions of angry people going to storm and sack his beloved liberal bastions much like the French Revolutionaries stormed Bastille and Versailles.

Yeah, that's what really disturbs me about moviebob.

We humans are creatures of habit by nature. Each and every one of us searches for something to give our lives meaning. One of those things is gainful employment like transporting cargo(trucking), farming, mining, coding programs and anything that requires manpower to happen. We do this to keep our minds occupied... to give us something we chose and like to do for our lives. Automation might sound interesting as a concept but it really isn't a good idea. When things start to become more automated, we start to lose gainful employment. That would devolve us into lazy slobs like movieblob to where the basic knowledge of how to grow plants or how to manually operate machinery would be gone from memory, like that part in Wall-E. Moviebob's "superior future" might sound good to him but it will never work or would collapse shortly after it goes into effect because we humans like to do things that gives us a sense of worth.

If you want further evidence of this look no further than electoral trends. Take some of the newer swing states. As recently as 04 Virginia, North Carolina, Colorado and Nevada were all solid Red states. What happened? In the West people fleeing California likes rats from the Titanic. In the East people bailing out from the Mid Atlantic/Northeastern states. It happened to Florida as far back as the 90s. As another example Oregon and Washington used to be mildly contested in the early 2000s until of course California castoffs once again decided to jump ship. Take a look at the Electoral vote projections for the 2020 census. All the growth is in the South and southwest. Florida will surpass New York, Texas could get as many as four more votes meanwhile California might get one more if all the Border crossers get counted. Reality once disproves Bob. Sorry for the Text wall.

So what's Bob going to say if the "children fleeing the wasteland" don't vote for their parents to starve to death because they don't see their families as disposable machines? Even in his head these ideas are questionable.
he doesn't care about those pesky children. They made the crime of being born in a state that doesn't vote the way Bob "delude" Chipman approve of.

It is under the assumption that people will have the same contempt for family as he does, which if someone isn't consumed with nihilism, that won't happen.

I wonder if someone will ever be brave enough to break it to him that the Superior Future would directly lead to a WALL-E situation where humans are all coddled and lazy to the point where they can't do anything for themselves.
Best part of this whole thing is how he ends his stupid debate by saying it's bedtime. At 10:00 in the morning.
Is there any discernible reason he has the sleeping schedule of a night security guard outside of :autism:? Wouldn't it be easier to shoot and edit when everyone's awake so they don't have to put up with a jabbering dipshit in the basement while they're sleeping?

Maybe the laundry room's in the basement, and nighttime is the only time he can be sure he won't be interrupted?

"MOM! I'm filming my video essays!"

"That's nice, honey, now help me fold these sheets."

Bob is basically a NEET and NEETs always have fucked up sleeping schedules. He has no reason to get up early so he just stays up late playing vidya and shitposting on twitter.

I still bet on if he doesn't brush it off, he'd say something about those humans being dead weight. It's the only conclusion that works with his "progress at any cost" views unless he believes robots should sacrifice productivity to care for the ideal Islamic obese black opinionated lesbians with disabilities who are supposedly the world's future. He doesn't have a high opinion of humans.

Bob's a NEET. He probably stays up all night playing video games or something.

Oh, you mean permadeth, like on Roguelikes? You know, games like Rogue, or Hack or... Oh, wait. I forgot. It's for PC, so it doesn't exist in Bob's mind.

Ironic he's such a randroid considering Ayn Rand considered people like him parasitic.

Bob has built nothing, instead shitting on the labor of others. He does not create anything but self-indulgent pap so unappealing that 3rd tier TGWTG personas regularly outperform him in numbers. He has never worked a job that meant anything.

Everything he ever had was given to him, either by his parents or overly-lenient employers.

Thing you have to understand about Bob (this was true even then) is that he LITERALLY (in the dictionary way, not Biden way) gets his worldview from movies/TV - full stop. (Like when The Mist was one of his favorite films and he thought it one of the most accurate portrayals of religion.) Once you realize this you can decode his rants.

For example, every time you see backwoods or rural folks in movies, do you ever see them actually working? Nah it's always artists who are producing anything in film/tv (gee, I wonder if the writers have a bias) - ergo it's only artists that produce - therefore since only artists are in New York & California, only NY & CA produce anything in the country.

Or think about the "elite." How often is "the only sane, super-brilliant scientist" used as a trope in film/tv? Wouldn't you call him "elite"? And isn't that elite scientist always being held back by obviously dumber fellows?

When he talks about "reality" just replace it with "in my favorite film/show" and it makes sense. Or try a game of guessing which movie/show matches best whatever rant he is on about. He doesn't make coherent points, he makes pop culture references.

The thing with that is he can't even get the message of pop culture junk right. Look at his love of capeshit which was born out of and usually centers around the working class. Bob's the type who wouldn't understand why Clark Kent doesn't take over the world or why isn't Luthor the hero over some dumb hick. Another example is his "Magneto was right" stuff when you have scenes of the character admitting his ideas are faulty in retrospect.

Any way you cut it, Bob still has an odd sense of morality and if it's centered around the media, it's astonishing he doesn't realize he'd fit the bill of a standard issue villain.

He has all the attitudes and contempt for common people that Lex Luthor has. He's just a lot fatter and dumber and unlike Lex, his opinion of his own intelligence is completely unfounded.
