I would've thought Bob would just want all southerners(or at least the white ones) to be put in death camps by "intellectual superiors" or be reduced to a servant class as payback for the slaves. The latter would be done regardless of whether or not a person's ancestors actually had anything to do with slave owners before the Civil War, because everyone know all white people owned slaves...

It's also pretty fucking ignorant of the fact that the Civil War itself was so destructive that the South was essentially reduced to a Third World country until the early 20th Century -- one reason so many of these monuments date from the 1910s and 1920s is because the South simply didn't have the money to build them until their veterans were old men. What more did he want?

Oh, and I suppose Lincoln's "spirit of reconciliation" was just more of that inferior past silliness.

There's a change Britain would have supported the South in any 2nd Civil War scenario (assuming there was no attempted re-introduction of slavery) if the war significantly fucked up international trade

From what I understand, Bob favors political dynasties as long as they are on "his" side, so I wouldn't be surprised if he'd have been okay with going back to being part of the Empire.
