Long while back, Costco used to carry a brand of microwavable fries that I can't for the life of me remember the names of, which were the greatest shit. You could even throw cheese on them if you were feeling a bit spicy. They stopped selling them fuck knows how long ago, at least 2009~.

I was going to say Oreo-O's but they just brought them back like a month ago.
Didn't know they had anything more than just Oreo's (and Double Stuf), of course I checked and didn't realize this is a cereal, my mistake.

Speaking of cereals, though not technically discontinued, I do sorta miss the days when the "Monster Cereals" was a year-round thing. Now they treat it like Creme Eggs and it's not the same.

I don't think they make this anymore, at least, I haven't seen it in a hot minute but this was the only cereal I'd eat as a kid. Rip dig em frog.

In the 1980s, these things were a favorite of many a small child. Ironically, they sort of still exist.

Basically Turtle pies were an existing Hostess product (Vanilla Pudding Pies) which innovated by adding a few spoonfulls of green food coloring to the frosting. God bless corporate laziness. Now future generations can enjoy terrible confections we grew up with.

Anyone know Sparkies? They're essentially Brazilian Skittles, but they sold them in Canada for several years in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The first two variations were more or less identical to, if I remember correctly, regular and tropical Skittles, but the third and fourth variations were amazing: ice cream and soda flavours. Skittles have never done anything like that, or at least not so far as I remember in Canada.

Speaking of soda candy, I kind of miss the fizzy Wonka Bottle Caps, though we can get the regular (non-fizzy) version in Canada.

As for Skittles, this is super-recent, but the Orchard mix is already gone from most stores in Canada. That one I really like because it has plain lime which was removed from the regular Skittles mix a decade or so ago in favour of green apple. Eh, I know there's still lemon in regular Skittles but lime is a completely different and worthwhile taste, I tell you! :shakes fist:

Interesting I never heard of Sparkies before, looking online, they're from Columbia, not Brazil, though it looks like they're owned by Adams (familiar to us for Chiclets).

I guess they didn't see any potential in the US with an already saturated market so I could see why they tried in the Great White North.

One thing I do remember that's not sold much around here other than south of the border is PAL Gum. Anyone who went trick or treating back in the pre-90's would probably know what I'm talking about!

EDIT: Really, I didn't care for this at all, but I do miss not hating these as much these days! It's like goofy little pieces of hard-as-hell gum you always got for Halloween when you didn't see it much anywhere else.

I just remembered about how Subway used to have a sandwich called Orchard Chicken Salad, but then I got sad because IIRC they only had it for a few years as a special for summer. Loved that shit.

If they still have the ingredients to make it, you can still order it.

Back in the 90's Subway had a "pizza sub" that was just marinara sauce, pepperoni, mozzarella, and some spices. They took it off the menu, but if you asked for one they'd still make it for you and charge you accordingly. For a while some old locations that still used old cash registers still had a button for the pizza sub for years after its removal.

Haven't had one in ages though, but as long as they still sell that meatball sub and the italian sub they'll probably always have the ingredients on hand to make a pizza sub. :)

Nice encouragement there. I recall mine did a pizza sub as well, have to see if they still do, but often when they're a lot of young guys working the shift, they may not have the nerve to go with it, but I'll keep that in mind if I happen to be at a Subway and see if they do.

Is that the one that was like chicken salad with dried fruit in it? I fucking loved that one.
