Neogaf just banned the famous modder, game debugger, PC porter, and PCGamer journalist, Durante (Trails of Cold Steel, Little King's Story, Dark Souls, etc) from the forums. Looking through his posts, I can't find any obvious reasons as to why they would ban him, but I'm going to do some asking around. Other posters on the site seem just as confused by his ban as me.

He's probably the most positive thing the site has to offer, as he frequented the place and always offered very interesting insight on games's he's worked on and how they work.

Praise the Sun Durante for making Dark Souls PC playable.

They probably found out he said something not entirely negative about Drumph on another site .

Back when I posted there Durante always struck me as one of those anti-censorship people that Neogaf absolutely fucking hate. He had a lot of localization opinions that would put him at odds with the hivemind as well, what with not wanting dialogue butchered or removed and such.
Given recent events, I have to assume he said something about freedom of expression or some similar subject that really fucking triggered the pissy mods there.

Every time Durante is brought up someone says it, but every-time someone has asked for evidence there there doesn't seem to be anyone actually giving any.

Voat is extremely paranoid a site with regards to pedos, so I'd just take that as a bad rumor. Only evidence I can find on the site is this page calling out Atelier Sophie posters. (and the actual Neogaf page: http://archive.is/HpVnu) Durante is a HUGE fan of the Atelier series, and almost every Atelier game is a game where you play some teenage girl alchemist carrying out various jobs and collecting goods to make new things. The series has some (yet fairly mild) fanservice. So its probably just voat looking for any excuse they can to scream about Neogaf and its regular users. Kind of ironic considering Neogaf bans discussion of games like Moero Chronicle and Criminal Girls. Voat doesn't really have a leg to stand on with regards to this specific point.

Millions of people quoting someone with dumb lazy comments like "SMH" or the laugh emoji is a revered gaf tradition, and the equivalent of the jeering crowd yelling for the guys with the truncheons to arrive.

It also makes the forum very interesting to read, topic-focussed and not at all look like the social justice dramabox some accuse it to be.

Considering they let a guy come back after admitting/claiming/fantasizing (don't remember which) that he committed medical malpractice yes, they regularly let people get away with worse.

GAF mods let people get away with threatening murder against the "wrong" people. You know, anyone who isn't an actual fucking Communist.

It took 6 posts before someone replied to him. The man is just talking to himself. He's insane and his mental stability perfectly explains why Halo is such a big piece of crap now.

He's far less unhinged on Twitter, which makes me think he knows his Neogaf attitude would get him fired from Microsoft pretty quickly.
