They dug themselves into a hole by making this new powerpuff girl black, not because of design but because if they ever think about getting rid of her (like Fairly oddparents did with the dog), they will be called racists lol.

Yeah, because the hamfisted transgender "allegory" episode with the unicorns went over so well with people...

I have to admit, it was pretty cheeky on their part to make the new PPG black as a shield against criticism (seeing as the show has been shat upon since day 1 and for good reasons, too), because if someone criticizes the character for being poorly written or completely out of place, irregardless of ethnicity, they can just pull the racism card to silence people. That's one way to worm out of people hating on the show for embodying everything wrong with the reboot culture of Hollywood/television in this decade.

It would be your standard comic if not for the random brown Sora

Don't worry. They didn't change a Japanese character's race! They obviously just headcanon him as slightly-toasted from all those days falling asleep on the beach.
I actually did think of that but then why Riku is still the same?

That is, itself, pretty racist. "Oh let's make our shitty Scrappy black to deflect criticism."

That just says they already know it's shit, like the rest of the show.

You could tell this was going to be a shitshow just from the early stuff, dad meming, children twerking, and the creepy pedophile who shipped his shitty adult OC with Blossom.

The things the ones working on the show say to deflect criticism are pretty lolcow-worthy. I would suggest a thread for the show to avoid going off-topic

Going back to topic:

Kingdom Hearts fanart is just weird. Like the artists seem obsessed with not appearing racist, so they'll always draw an ambiguously brown Sora and the other characters with slanted eyes in such a manner it almost verges on racism.

Like, tumblr...It's okay to draw ambiguously white characters. It's okay.

It's likely blasphemy to them. Why draw something that will upset their SJW gods?

Nah, they're too allergic to any white people or pale-looking asian characters.

Maybe this one isn't as SJWey but she kinda looks like she has skin disease

Y'know, I was almost able to get behind the Wheatley design; since so many really do draw him the exact same way (kind of like how people all draw Cecil from Welcome To Night Vale the same way despite his appearance *never* being canonically described; not saying the art isn't good in some cases but you get tired of seeing the same thing over and over) but then I saw the artist description and I knew it was some "ha ha TAKE THAT other artists look how much more progressive I am than you!" and was so disappointed.

...other than that all I can say is jumping fucking elephants, the neck on that one Chell. Didn't know Aperture was splicing giraffe DNA into their test subjects now.

It it just me or does the vast majority of these humanizations come across as a lazy excuse for not expanding your drawing skills? You don't have to learn a different style, or how to draw anything other than the vaguely humanoid blobs you're already confortable with.

Yeah I could see humanizations of the cores being wheelchair-users since their canon designs lack legs, but I feel that the artist just made Wheatley wheelchair bound for the sake of being progressive opposed to actually thinking about it.

(I also find it funny that the artist called him "not white" while he looks pretty fucking white)

Pretty much. I could forgive it if these people are younger and haven't gotten a chance to go to art school. But many of these people are also in their 20s or even older.

You could tell the new show was going to be trash before it even aired. The crew dropped Ms. Bellum because they thought she was problematic, which means they didn't at all understand the character. They also did this
