Pretty terrifying level of disconnection from reality if she thinks the situation around her firing was done to her, not the result of her own choices. If's not like GG made up a lie that she was a sex worker and N bowed under the pressure of that and gave her the boot. Or is that what she's pretending now?

Alison is less sympathetic as a GamerGate "victim" because she is incredibly obvious a self insert in the controversy. How come Audrey Drake was not a victim of GamerGate? She was just as much of a women in gaming as Alison. Could it be because she wanted to focus more on her job and ignore an overblown and mostly made up controversy about harassment? Could it be because getting involved would look bad for her reputation?

What Alison did was she saw what was going on with Anita Sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn and wanted to be apart of that. She wanted the drama and the attention that they were getting. She wanted to be a brave woymn fighting sexism in gaming. One of the saddest things about this story is that while Alison was not a game developer she was more in the gaming industry then Quinn ever will be and yet she threw it away to be a Zoe Quinn. Quinn could never work at a big company like Nintendo. Alison had it better than Quinn but wanted her made up drama life instead.

GamerGate gave attention to people like Sarkeesian, Quinn and Brianna Wu, people who are not professional enough to deserve that attention. None of their lives were "ruined" yet Alison's was because she wanted to be apart of that GamerGate victim scene. She was dumb made dumb decisions and got the consequences of it.

I just played Oxenfree because it was in a bundle. It's pretty bad, but it's the kind of coming-of-age indie hipster bullshit that she'll love. I'm sure she also wet herself over Life Is Strange too (although I did legitimately like that game)

If she's going to try to get back into the industry, she's going to have a rough time with all the weird baggage attached to her name (and I'm not just talking about those eyebags).

It's funny actually, if she hadn't gone the superwoke femdom route and had just taken her husband's name, instead of doing it the other way around for the quirky progressive points? It would have been Alison Johnson who got fired from Nintendo, and Alison Rapp would be a graduate who was looking for work with a gap in her employment history. Yeah, it still could have been snooped out, but not as painlessly as it is with her maiden name being directly attached to every ounce of controversy surrounding her. Yet another example where a stuffy old school tradition would have gone a long way to protecting what she'd worked for.
