Oddly enough, Durante got briefly banned for making a joke unrelated to any of the usual forbidden topics. When people started to notice his absence, he came back, from what I recall.

ResetEra will never grow because they can never open registration or they will be swamped by trolls. No matter how much people talk about ResetEra, their method of "verification" is unreasonable, and has nothing to do with video games.

The best I can tell, verification involves having a history on NeoGAF, and it being reviewed for wrong-think. There have been no considerations for any new members beyond being directly vouched for by another trusted member.
