Wouldn't they be able to tell who registered using what code just by checking users against the particular servers?

This seems to be the real account @reseteraforum, it's followed by:

  • Shinobi602, who briefed Polygon, and is being touted as an admin by the leaked list of mods.
  • Nibellion, who's also touted as a ResetEra staff member in the same article.
  • Jason Schreier. Who as we know is in the discord server now.

It has the most followers by far (Over 6,000), and its only tweet is a quirky clip from some old sci-fi film/tv show, which tells you it's them trying to be hipster cool.

Where it gets funny is that there is a troll account called @ResetTheEra, which is followed by:
  • Multiple corporate twitters like Sony, Wolfenstein, Playstation, Bioware, Telltale Games & Playtonic. All check marked.
  • It is also followed by some choice SJW people: Anita Sarkeesian, Randi Harper, Leigh Alexander.
  • A couple of outlets like Kotaku & Giant Bomb.
What gives it away as a troll account is the profile header image (A stereotypically white family playing Super Mario Bros, which was earlier used by trolls IIRC), and the fact that the Besada parody account is following it.

What's even funnier is that it's doing far better at social interaction than the seemingly official account: It's doing site logo votes, retweeting followers's PSA tweet that tout it as the TRUE & HONEST hugbox..

TL;DR: The SJWs couldn't even get their Twitter profile & messaging right. Even though that's what they do all day lol.

This is from a bunch of pages back but I feel the need to point out that you mixed up the Following and Followers pages for the fake account.

Sorry, didn't see this until now.
Don't really want to powerlevel, but I never really "stuck" with NeoGAF after 2016. The cancerous amount of political attacks going towards dissenting users made me almost never post there unless it was something gaming related. I really just used GAF for the quick gaming news. That was it. However after the election it became a reeeee'ing fest where you couldn't even get gaming news without "omg drumpf goobergaters" being stuck somewhere in there. So up until it's death I just lightly browsed and maybe posted every once in a while. I was mainly there for the Metal Gear community from 2013-2015 anyway.
I did discover KiwiFarms from GAF though, so I've been lurking here for at least a few months. I can thank GAF for that much though.

Yeah, I kept thinking of typing up something for a while now, but now that the moderation basically doesn't exist, might as well do it. I can't get banned for having some right wing opinions anymore I guess, so might as well say something before I never look at the site again unless I'm just laughing at them on here.

Hey first post, lurked for a bit and figured I'd say that the slow bleeding death GAF and it's stillborn offspring are seeing couldn't happen to a nicer community.

On-topic though; I think it's funny that the GAF response to "I just want to talk about video games" is essentially "there are more important things than video games" or some variant that makes it personal ("I'm oppressed because ten years before I was born someone in my family got called a 'spic'"). As if that's news to anyone over the age of 10. Thing is, there are forums FOR talking about those more important things and they choose to instead pester people who just want to talk about Mario or some shit with these off-topic things. They also consistently know very little about the topic of politics/history/etc. in-depth and just read Wikipedia enough to pass themselves off as well-informed to your average gamer. My pet theory is that's what makes these hugboxes feel like home to them; not that they all totally agree on all the topics of discussion ("agree 100% good post OP" notwithstanding) but that they're all 102 IQs LARPing as 120s without the risk of punching above their weight on a forum where they might meet a subject-matter expert who can wipe the floor with them and their pedestrian take.

Either that or they think I've been doing more than I actually have. I don't recall digging information up on anyone; I'm actually against doxxing. Or maybe just by participating in this thread I'm considered to be doxxing by association. I'd ask but, well, apparently banning disables all features and hides everything from you, so I can't communicate with mods.

I'm disappointed; if they had a problem with something I've been doing, I would've preferred they approached me about it, asked, and given me the chance to correct myself and/or apologize.

Speaking of NeoGAF, a post I made about it on Medium seems to have attracted the attention of someone who seems obsessed with defending them and sniping at anyone they feel is a "stalker". They even commented on my posting here as if I'm supposed to be ashamed of it, which I'm not, and you can see the entire conversation I had with them here:

At some point, every forum is going to be filled with 'tism, and NeoGAF is no exception. Given that people are calling out bullshit without fear of the brute squad being called in, I have to assume that the "secret police" don't actually exist and is a ruse by Malka to keep everyone in line, with the only people (or at least the vast majority) being banned are the ones that personally insult him.

EDIT: Holy crap, just noticed that Spatula was banned.
