You know how you run into people like Garbage Bag Guy, who try to find ways to incorporate their bizarre sexual pathology into everything? Social Justice is like the ideological version of this behavior. In their worldview, thou shalt have no gods above Social Justice, and anything that does not support the ideology of Social Justice must be made to fit the ideology of Social Justice, profitability, canon, and wishes of the original creators be damned. They don't care if their works are profitable or not, so they're perfectly comfortable sinking an entire IP if it refuses to bend its knee before almighty SocJus purely out of spite. If they can change something solely for the sake of changing it, especially if it pisses people off and they can try to spin it as a moral victory, the better.
Ritsu and friends see anyone who disagrees with them as a threat to their ideology, and they feel it is their responsibility to abuse any means at their disposal to thwart them. Facts don't matter in their crusade, neither does context. Ritsu's "journalism" isn't intended to keep people informed; it's to disseminate propaganda through publication. In this same vein, a site or company head who's in league with the ideology doesn't give a shit about the company they're tied to: their role is to enforce the ideology via activism.
It doesn't matter what their career supposedly is, all is secondary to devotion to almighty SocJus. Whatever power they wield via that career is solely a means to that end.
