From what I understand, animators tend to use sort of stock hand gestures, like you'll see them in their studies/sketches. While that's not bad in itself, since animators have to deal with strict deadlines, especially in, say, Japanese animation.

The problem with Rory is that she knows, like, one or two.

their artstyle has simplified so much I'm p sure theyre referencing from THEIR OWN ART at this point which is why its more and more overstylized into oblivion every time
