I lived in a country that spoke a romance language for a few years (read: a language with gendered words). I also got fairly involved in various activist circles in said country and got to know them and the people that compose them quite well. At first I thought they were so great and refreshing and nothing like the SJWs in the US (mostly because this country has very real problems that are very worth complaining and protesting about, like the problems in the US pale in comparison, and the fact that these people dedicated a large part of their life to actual activist work, as opposed to sitting on Tumblr/Twitter all day).

However, I soon began to doubt my previous assumptions due to the fact that over time, these people became obsessed with "gender neutral" language (like I said, they speak a language that, unlike English, has gendered words). If you thought "latinx" was bad, then wait until you see every document or flyer they release, all written in this "gender neutral" language. If it was possible to make a "neutral" version of the word (by replacing the gender-offending letter with "X"), they would do it, and they would be remarkably consistent about it. Many of them want to make it an official policy that their university use this "neutral" language in all official communication, which lol.

Then they began to start going off the deep end into "feminism," which was basically like your standard Tumblr feminist shit. Granted, this country has some serious problems like I said before, and sexism is one of them, but instead of tackling that in any meaningful way, they choose to instead focus on giving space for SJW "Empowered Feminist Sex Workers" to talk about how prostitution should be legalized (this is a country where there is a high level of violence against women and human trafficking going on). You may agree or disagree with that position, but making the legalization of prostitution higher priority than the other, far more serious issues affecting women that I mentioned going on in this country, is sort of whack in my opinion.

Then a couple of days ago, I saw one of them send me an invite via FB to an event that involved them discussing 13 Reasons Why and its relationship with feminism. 13 Reasons Why was already a shitty series for the way it disregarded all the warnings and advice on how to portray suicide/its portrayal of suicide in general, but now we're going to analyze this shitty series with a "feminist" lens???? Sadly, I don't live in this country anymore so I'll be unable to attend the event, but I'm sure it'll be exceptional.

Alright, this is a second-hand story from my drum teacher but I thought you guys would enjoy it...

So my drum teacher's stepdaughter recently had a falling out with one of her friends over a boy (who turned out to be gay). The friend in question apparently identifies as "every gender ever"... as much as I will admit to being a Tumblrina, I've never actually heard of anyone identifying with anything MOGAI related (the kid said there were "over 170 different genders", or something). Okay, whatever, she gets a new friend group. But these friends are... something.

One of them is trailer park trash who everyone called Wolfy because they couldn't remember her name (it's actually Rachel. I thought it would be something like Crystal Metheny with how my drum teacher was wording her family). This is because she has a giant tattoo on her back of a wolf howling at the moon. She's 16, and because her mom's a hairdresser she changes her hair colour every week. Nobody knows what her actual hair colour is. Also, I think if I remember correctly she has a belly ring?
Another one of these friends is named Gabby, is a girl, but could pass for a dude - and not a good looking one. She basically does anything Wolfy tells her to, and she even freely admitted that she'd eat shit for Wolfy. Otherwise, she's not that remarkable.
The third one, Draven, is there mostly for pussy and he's the only guy (and actually the most normal of them all).

I don't remember if there's a fourth member of the White Trash Gang besides the stepdaughter, but I know one of them (possibly Wolfy) has a matching set of tattoos with her mom. It's not good, either.
The mother has a teapot, and the daughter has a teabag that's dangling from the spout of the teapot. You can figure out the rest.
I also think the mom has tattoos of 4 different teacups (for each kid she's had).

I just remembered another story from the activists I talked about before

So they invited me to a meeting where they were going to discuss "gender issues" and I was like "okay, why not I'll go?" Big mistake. At first it wasn't so bad, but then some undergrad Communication Studies major (read: critical theory) starts going on and on about how "the gender binary is committing genocide against intersex people" and how the existence of intersex people means that biological sex is a social construct and not real and it's like...you don't even study biology you study Communication Studies/Critical Theory aka bullshit. Of course this person was neither intersex nor trans (I know intersex and trans aren't the same but the person speaking was implying that they were pretty much). Luckily a bunch of people there seemed to be genuinely confused (as normal people should be) about the whole "biological sex doesn't exist and is a social construct" line this girl was pushing, but sadly, I'm sure they've all fell in line with all of this, because activist group unity and all.

autista's story reminds me of the time I found some very garbage gender politics in German, and it was just as dumb as in English! As a native English speaker the extreme gendered-ness of other European languages is kind of weird, but so it goes, I guess.

he can't go a second of our literature readings without making some remark about white people, white superiority complex, or white arrogance. he once tried going on about his soooo awesooome writer friend who wrote a great piece on feminism. and just recently he unironically mentioned that the patriarchy is real.
in a week or so we will be reading stuff about slavery, so i just can't wait to see where he takes that.

on that note, i really hate teachers who go on autistic tangents.

Well I'd buy that her terrible diet has contributed to some nutrient deficiencies. Being a fat cow who doesn't eat a balanced diet is going to leave you without enough of some crucial daily values. But at the end of the day you are still a fatass and way better off than someone who is skinny from poverty or disease. Your malnourishment isn't going to kill you. If anything you'd pull through a famine quite well as your blubber was consumed for sustenance.

Now here's an encounter with a real life SJW that I recently had.

So, my employer, a large public body near where I live, recently sent me on a Transgender Awareness Course. There was nothing doing; I was made to go on it because it was covering the latest legal updates regarding transgender people and the law and what we as a public body need to do to ensure compliance with it and that we don't directly or indirectly discriminate on the basis of transgendery. Yeah, I know. We drew straws and I got the short one to go and report back to my colleagues.

I go there and the first thing I note is that everyone there is white, middle class, and cis. No actual TRUE AND HONEST trans people there. Or if they were, they passed well enough thay you'd never notice. And boy can they virtue signal. It's like every conversation is them repeating "have I mentioned how trans inclusive I am today?" over and over. Ugh. WE KNOW.

Anyhow, we're being made aware and towards the end this woman who works for the local Police as an in house lawyer stands up. She's short and intense looking, dressed like an Apprentice candidate. You know. "I am a serious professional, not some cutsie well bosomed desk ornament." That sort of clobber. We'll call her AL, not because those are her initials but they are the initials of "Angry Lechers" which is an anagram of her name. She says, "Well now, it is all well and good discussing our legal responsibilities but in [area] Police we feel we have to go further."

Nodding sagely from around the room. I'm chewing the inside of my cheek not to collapse into helpless laughter but there you go.

"What I'm concerned about is indirectly discriminating against a pre-operative trans woman during searches in their cell once they're arrested," AL declares. "Normally, we have a policy that when a detained person is strip searched, they have to be strip searched by an officer of the same gender as them, but if they're pre-operative, I'm worried that if we make a female officer search them and they haven't had gender affirmation surgery yet, it might breach the human rights of both the suspect and the officer."

More nodding sagely.

"So what I think we should institute is a policy whereby when a trans woman is strip searched, and they are pre-operative, the top half should be strip searched by a female officer and the bottom half by a male officer."

Yes. That's actually what she said. Legally, the officer must be of the same gender that you identify and live as, but no, in the pursuit of cockwaving about how NOT TRANSPHOBIC they are, my local Police will now strip-search transgender arrestees in two halves by two different officers. And she went on to say that if the only officers available were all male, or all female, they should bring in an officer of the correct gender just for that purpose.

Sometimes I wonder why I pay my taxes.

Powerlevel, but I live near a Civil War battlefield that has been turned into a national park. I've been there for walks and hikes for as long as I can remember. Since my cousin came over, my dad and I decided to take him to the museum in the visitor's center. While there, I read the guestbook. Most of the comments were typical- "beautiful scenery," "so informative," "parking lot sucks," yadda yadda. But there were a couple comments asking where all the black people history was. If they actually bothered to look, they would've seen that blacks were discussed a little bit. It was just that most of them were slaves forced to build weapons nearby or were freed blacks that either fought or helped nurse the wounded. Sure, you had to watch the film or go to the museum, but they're not omitted. Their role was covered.
