Thats sorta what I was thinking, I mean he doesn't have any felonies to his name but that restraining order and the fact that he was on trial for running a man over I'd imagine any gun shop owner would be reluctant to sell him anything. Although I'm assuming that gun store owners have a right to refuse service to people in America?

Well there's no way a gun store owner could know any of that. They don't see the results of the NCIC check. they only see whether you were approved or denied. You have to contact the FBI and find out what the deal is. But yeah, unless it's because of race or something a gun store owner could refuse to sell him anything. The tomgirl shit might actually be an issue if he came in trying to buy a firearm in clown-makeup and a miniskirt. It's Virginia, and I'm sure there are still many many more court battles to be fought before the rights of certain Americans are recognized in the south.

Well sure. Chris has never ever expressed a desire to own a firearm, and his childish, cartoon-influenced perception of reality would most likely have him believing that along with alcohol and tobaccky, firearms=prickly-wicklies that should also be shot to the moon.

It's just one of those things that gets brought up from time to time for one reason or the other. just be glad it actually came up in the "random what if?" thread where it belongs.

When I was in high school, I worked at a grocery store not unlike Walmart. I recall that employees, Slow-in-da-mind or not, who were stubborn and generally difficult to order around did not last long. I doubt Chris would be able to conceivably hold even a low-end job at Walmart. His general demeanor, his perpetual hostility and his inclination to be difficult would only serve to get him fired faster.

I get the impression that OPL has a tenuous if not non-existent grasp on the fact that you have to answer to and take orders from superiors when you work at places like Walmart.

The same thing: He gets tossed out of a class for making racist comments, and while crying about it, he decides that a sweetheart from the ground up will solve all of his problems. He makes up an attraction sign and inevitably gets into trouble for it. After he gets suspended for a year, he comes back, still gives his .10 percent of an effort in assignments and tests, somehow graduates, shows up at the ceremony with his clown shirt, medallion and high school gown, then does fuck all with his degree and certification.

Things after that are the same: Chris becomes a laughing stock, he embraces tomgirlism, Bob dies, Barb turns Chris into her servant, the hoard gets even worse, and Chris burns the house down in January of 2014.

That would actually make an excellent sitcom for the CWC sitcom. Given his situation, he seems like the sort that has to be outside mingling with others. Maybe he'd get cabin fever. There is a respite home in my area. But that's mainly for short stay (two weeks tops). The only thing was that we couldn't go out unless it was with a carer who worked in 8-hour shifts (midnight-8, 8-4, 4-midnight). I still had to work so I did go out on my own for the mornings. I don't know if there'll be a similar arrangement as it is long term.

Oh geez, I am so sorry.. so sorry.... I don't know what you have, or what made you stay at the respite home, but I surely did not mean to dehumanize or degrade people who had things that made them have to go to a group home. There is no shame in that. I just wonder what would happen to Chris, when he is made to socialize with people he always considerd himslef to be "better then". Im sorry if I in anyway offended.
