If you look at any picture of the Joker from the comic books, he has a super, super pointy face. Obviously that's also not realistic, but it's on the opposite end of the spectrum from whatever that face is supposed to be.

One basic principle in character design is the impotance of the visual connotations of certain shapes. Skinny shapes and sharp angles, for instance, are excellent for communicating that a character is sinister. A great example of this is the way Brian Bolland draws the Joker in arguably his most famous iteration, Alan Moore's Killing Joke:

Check out how narrow and pointed his features are. His jaw and neck are the most prominent, but even small details like his teeth and nose have that angular quality. His thin, sharp eyebrows and lips even play into those design elements.

The sad thing is that Rory has taken at least one college-level class in character design- she should know and have internalized this shit by now. This, to me, is a clear indicicator that her character designs are not based on dramatic shapes and their connotations, but on a ridiculous obsession with "body positivity" and "diverse beauty". Tough shit, kiddo, that ain't what character design is about.

Looks like she is using the same body type for every character that she loves. Huge upper body and chest with blocky "muscles" with little to none on the bottom. Check out the effort that went into making those hands too. I can see the similarities between some of the characters and her "OC" (Rin, Jasper) but otherwise I'm drawing a blank.
