The porn ruins the characters because it’s in the porn that the characters reveal what sociopathic assholes they are. Orobas was ruined when we watched her take advantage of Amdusias’s childlike knowledge of sex as a way of getting into her pants, coerce Amdusias into continuing when asked to stop, and then be emotionally manipulative to make Amdusias feel like the one in the wrong. While Neon was never really likable it was the NSFW comics that showed just how self-centered and whiny she is. She ignores Lily sexually for years in favor of fucking a fake monster saguaro cactus dick having version of her, then tries to pin the blame for her selfishness on her mom. Because her mom was accepting and supportive of her suddenly deciding to be a girl. How abusive.

It’s almost like people aren’t having hang ups about sex, but about continuing to like characters after seeing how awful they really are.

Actually, GOOD authors DON'T "kinda do whatever they feel like with their canon". They do what is called for to make the narrative as good as it can be. Doing "whatever you feel like with your canon" is more in the vein of dicking around, doing crack-fiction. I don't know why it's so hard for PK and her dumb friends to understand that storytelling requires a specific formula and serious forethought. It's not all about randomly throwing shit together on petty whims.

Idk PK. Alot of people, myself included, were somewhat disturbed when the Asexual Agender character was suddenly dressing like a girl and being treated like a cumslut fucktoy. I'm not sure how something like that doesn't sour a character for you. It's not like anyone expected that either. Because we weren't led to believe the Asexual character would be engaging in explicit sexual scenes. So maybe people stumbled into the comic not realizing that's what they were getting.
