Absolutely. He just wants to be apart of something no matter the role. For him, right now, this is his crowning achievement in life.

The latest MW post seems to be quite... interesting. It may explain in part why things at DSP space camp are getting into riot mode:

Oh boy. After waking up this morning and seeing the absolute train wreck that is his "MGS2 Redemption Run" I think if MGS3 follows suit, "Redemption Runs" might be a dead meme to Phil. The whole point was to prove how much better he's gotten playing games and to show off his true skill by "being good, cause he wants to". That sure as shit didn't happen for game #1 (he's doing WORSE then he did his first play-through) and it isn't looking good for game #2 on the list. The "trolls" he expected to be there to instigate cheering and tipping aren't cause they don't give a fuck, so he's not making the $$$ he wanted and the fans that are there are either bored or helping him rush through it. I hope his fans weren't looking foreword to the Bloodborne "Redemption Run" too much, cause in my opinion, the whole "RR" idea is in jeopardy right now cause:

1. It's not making Phil the money he wants.
2. It's making him look like a complete jackass.

Good. I don't want his gout ridden fingers anywhere near that masterpiece of a game, to smear his bullshit all over it a second time.

Interesting revelation: Happened upon someone who worked at this place that DSP got a job from his Dad. Apparently it's very common for higher ups to get jobs for their kids in the warehouse portion of the building. Putting two and two together with his stories from the time period, I think it's plausible that he had an onsite accident of some kind which caused his back issue. As a result of that, he was shifted around into some work where he didn't need it until they discovered he was basically useless and laid him off. According to the person I spoke to though, there were no mass layoffs in the company as long as he's worked there (well over a decade).

Incase anyone is curious, here's the address. My wife's family is from the area and knew of the place so while visiting them over the holidays I got plenty of chances to interact with people familiar with the company.

Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation
124 Quarry Rd, Trumbull, CT 06611

Wasn't it some car accident? According to Phil (Yes, I know, take his words with a grain of salt), he was in car accident and as a result had to stay in hospital for a day or so and his mother scolded him for it to which Phil replied with "I do what I want, d00d".
