Then again, Ashley Judd is a bit of an SJW herself, so maybe it's not as implausible as I thought.

So she'd be out getting railed by some illegal named Paolo while Wil talks about how proud he is of being with such a brave, strong, independent woman (while crying himself to sleep at night).

Ggllllglgkkk. Okay, now that I've recovered, what kills me about this guy is how often he has to try to couch things like this in a 'Oh I'd TOTALLY CAST this guy' or 'I would write this one in as...' just to try to drum up the 'media mogul' cred more. Wasn't his 90's shtick 'fuck Hollywood, they made me be a bad character' but now he revels in the trappings of it?

Perhaps this isn’t directly related but - kind of funny, how Wheaton’s slogan a few years back was “don’t be a dick.”

At the end of the day he’s just another butthurt bitter nerd, trying to craft a persona that’s loved and adored. And I’m sure his latching on to the geek girl crowd is both that and a huge middle finger to the Trek fans who refuse to adore him.

I used to believe he meant the things he said.

I also used to believe he wasn't the kind of guy who deserved a thread.
No joke, when Wheaton first showed up on the scene I kind of liked him. He seemed like a pleasant if awkward guy who talked nerd shit, and that resonated with lonely high school me.

Now though it's clear he's just an asshole. He's definitely a byproduct of the corporate phoniness in pop culture today and I'm sick of it.

We also used to have a general rule that celebrities were off-limit for threads.

Things change.

So is his rectum.

You know, from all the buttsex his "wife" makes him have with other men.

I think she just straightup pegs him.

But at least Emma Watson grew up fuckably hot, despite being a bossy, self-important bitch. Anyone who could find Wil Wheaton hot and fuckable should probably never breed so as not to pollute the gene pool of the human race more than it already is.
hell, even his wife knows better than to breed with him.

You either die An Hero or live long enough to have half the internet wishing you'd died An Hero.

Although Star Trek likes to pride itself on its scientific accuracy, there was more than a little dodgy science on the show. Usually it's not too hard to suspend your disbelief, but occasionally it went a bit too far. I still think the most ridiculous thing on Star Trek I was ever asked to accept was the idea that Wil Wheaton could bag this:

A bit.

It's the "don't be a dick" hypocrisy that disgusts me the most.

LOL prayer is for dumbheads, Paul Ryan!!!

If you're committed to being mean, then fine. But he sees himself as goddam Buddha, when he's actually as spiteful a piece of shit as anyone he blocks on Twitter.

Dear lord, he's started channelling the Blue Bear. :horrifying:

It is the only thing he's got left after decades for being (rightfully) mocked for his Star Trek role at this point.

Oh, this little cuck. It's sickening that Wheaton is considered "King Geek". He's a fucking poseur. I identified with his character in TNG when I was young, but watching the series again when I was older I saw just how annoying he was. I can think of only a couple episodes he was in where he was actually tolerable. The rest of the time was just "Shut up, Wesley!". It's hilarious that he tries to defend Crushed Jr. as not being a crybaby by being a crybaby.

Oh, and the new MST3K sucks. I couldn't even get 1/4 in to the first episode. And I'm glad to see others who liked Mike more than Joel. Joel was good, but I always liked Mike better.

It's funny how he waffles between "the script was horrible, it's not my fault, but lots of people loved Wesley anyway" and "Wesley was an inspiration and everyone loved him!"

Granted, it wasn't helped by the fact that Star Trek was created by Eugene Wesley Roddenberry. He was basically Gene's self-insert, which explains why Starfleet's best officers needed to be bailed out by a kid roughly twice an episode. It is well documented that Gene's brain was basically fried by the late 1980s, from decades of drug abuse. It also explains why Wesley's role was diminished in the 2nd season when Roddenberry became ill and written out when Gene died.

But JFC Wil, that was 25 fucking years ago and nobody cares now. Hell, nobody cared then.

I wouldn't say he's "rightfully" mocked for Wesley Crusher. It's not like he came up with the character, wrote the character, decided the character's behaviors or anything else. It's actually kind of important to remember that Wesley Crusher isn't actually Wil Wheaton's fault, and at the time he didn't deserve the hate he had heaped on him. A lot of the hate even the character gets is overblown, as he definitely didn't save the day "twice an episode"... it was closer to twice in his entire presence on the show. (And yeah you're allowed to think that's two times too many but it's still way behind every other character.)

Of course he sort of made himself retroactively deserve it with all this bullshit. As much as he got shit on he still could have had a career with some respectability to it. He just took a lazy, easy path back to being somewhat in the public eye, and turns out that if he had been in charge of the character, Wesley probably would have been far more insufferable than any of us could have possibly imagined.

Wil doesn't want to admit to himself that his most well-known role is despised and loathed by the vast majority of Trek fans. Those that do like the character were kids when the show first aired and identified with Wesley because they were alienated nerds who couldn't make many friends. They still like the character because, like Wheaton himself, they never grew out of being a childish nerd. A lot of the fans who grew up with the character as kids eventually matured, and despite still enjoying the show have come to see Wesley as the obnoxious cry baby who makes every scene he's in awkward and unpleasant. So Wil has to make up these stories about the character, and by extension himself, inspiring kids to go into STEM fields when they grew up to feel better about himself. "I'm not a loser! Wesley was a great character! The BEST character! He just wasn't utilized to his full potential! He inspired kid's! I'm NOT. A. LOSER!"

I mean, even the show he's most known for now, The Big Bang Theory, introduces him by saying that Sheldon, who is almost always portrayed as unreasonable and extremely hard to get along with saying that he could relate to the character. Even on Big Bang they made a point of saying that Wesley sucked balls, but I guess Wil Wheaton wasn't smart enough to understand that DEEP SUBTEXT.
