I thought leaving Rory behind would be good. But then i'm greeted with garbage. God, you all gave me a good laugh

I'm sure Rory, like most internet artists/creators/etc. that eventually become lolcows, also has plenty of white knights who are willing to jump in and respond to any criticism with "Well I think it looks perfect!" that artists like Rory burrow themselves in that inevitably leads to stagnation and decline.

I can only imagine what her attitude towards her teachers and peers in class is like though.

Why does Rory make the eyes on everyone so small? Half the part of character design, especially if the character is supposed to be sympathetic to viewers, is in making the eyes appealing since that's where human's focus is drawn towards. That's why the vast majority of animation, from Disney to Japanese anime, will generally give characters bigger or more notable eyes.

But not only are Rory's characters eyes pretty much non existent, they're always insanely high up on the head and/or include these really distracting half lids that make everyone look like heroin-addled corpses. You can't even call them alien-looking, it's just bad.

I totally agree with you. I get more angry on how Rory drew eyes than the huge fish lips. They just look incredibly off since they look cross-eyed and tiny.

The tiny eyes thing is probably either to rebel against animation norms or a misguided attempt to add some realism.

Funny to see Tumblr making fun of her again. Here's a Twitter thread laughing at her too.

I've been lurking on this thread for a while and it disgusts me how much of her art is based on real life actors. If they were all fictional cartoon characters? Who cares. But the way she draws kylo ren and finn makes them look like they were born with 500 deformities. I hope the actors never find her art.
