I'm already a couple of pages in and my god this art book is a complete mess in both formatting and content. Not only does PK sound extremely stuck up like Seeds is Oscar worthy material, but it's really hard to read when paragraphs are randomly placed all over the page accompanied by sloppy doodles. As a person who loves to own 'Art of' books, this is a disgrace. If I wanted to read PK's autistic rambles I would go on her twitter or blog, jfc.

(About Cress): "I got the idea to make her eyelids transparent from a comic I'd seen when I sold at Comiket in Japan. A frog girl, I think, had transparent eyelids, and it look really nice with the coloring the artist had given her. So I thought, 'I definitely want to do that one day with something.'" All theft all the way down.

(About Sletha...whoever that is): "I love dolls, and I love doll-motif creatures . . . it's really fun to make dolls up because their bodies don't have to make sense in any traditional sort of way . . . One of the hardest things to do is make a new design that's interesting, but not generic . . . it can look really cluttered if you try to cram too much stuff in." A good way to explain away shitty anatomy, and a lack of self-awareness.

(About Cayenne): "He went from gray to brown to gray again all over the place, and his eye color shifted a lot, too . . . If pressed to explain, I'd simply say, 'Well, show me where it says real life satyrbuns can't change their fur color, and I'd still change it because I feel like it.' On the slightly more serious side, it does make it hard to keep consistent color schemes for characters when I like playing with the light source in almost every single thing I ever do . . . it's kind of weird to realize I'm not actually tethered to any particular color...because it ultimately doesn't matter. As long as I like how it looks, that's all that needs to be cared about." ...wrong.

(About Lionel): "A hard thing to keep in mind is that every design is going to be drawn many times, forever. So the more complicated I make a design, the more pain I'm gonna feel later on. This means I'm always trying to simplify designs and shapes at the middle part of the design stage . . . Sometimes I'll move body parts around on a design simply because when i tried to emote with body language, it got too bulky and I wasn't able to clearly convey a thought without words." And yet.

(About Luisa & Diane): "Well, okay, maybe it's not fair to call them jerks. They were only ACTING like jerks." I actually can't tell if this is sarcasm or ignorance. It does make a lot of things make more sense. It's not fair to call PK a narcissistic fake-gay pedophile, she's only acting like one!

(About FurFur): "Recently, I'd seen a picture of some Biblical angel who had horns in a circle shape because they were unbroken and thus 'perfect' and I was like "oh wow, I want to make a character with unbroken horns.'" She's referring to this. At least she put some kind of spin on it. Though her version looks a lot less organic and integrated, even putting aside that it's really her weapon.

There's also a running theme of PK mentioning "this character will probably definitely maybe come back someday!!" and nope.

This feels more and more like how a roleplay plays out, only that it works when two people are participating within a roleplay. In comic form, it is boring for the one reading.
