Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

Sorry for the double post! @neural the video below sums up much of the early goings on. D&C says that Susan Auger (unsure about spelling) doxed him, spurred on by Heather Antos. Apparently, Heather Antos accused him of participating in the Charlottesville March (even though he didn’t), which got Auger into such a tizzy that she decided to try to get D&C fired, among other things. I can’t find the video where he specifies that dynamic at the moment. He has several, more detailed videos about each of the points he goes over in the embedded video. Since he has so many videos, I’m having trouble finding all the videos that discuss the specifics of each event. If you think so, it may be worth adding Susan Auger’s role to the OP.

Mundane Matt also decided to put his two cents into this. As usual, it’s worthless. Even though he only discusses comic book movies (not comics), he actually claims that the comic pros should be going after him because he’s such a big deal. He’s so insufferable and conceited! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QpUQX4HbMVQ

EDIT: D&C has also mentioned that he thinks Auger may be the Gary Drama twitter account.
Susan Auger was someone I only noticed after I published the post. She will be in my upcoming revision of the OP, either later today or tomorrow.

Disney has yet to properly take charge of their comics division, and it's entirely possible they will quite soon. In the same way they did over EA and the Star Wars debacle. It'll come very quickly, very brutally and people will still be dusting themselves down wondering what the fuck happened.

I hope you're right. You look at the Twitter of most of Marvels writers and the absolute contempt they hold for comics and comic fans (aka the straight white strawman) and it's mind boggling they can not only act like this, but are clearly encouraged to act like this! If my studio saw me insulting our players or customers I would be fired. There's no way I'd be allowed to be such a bitch on social media and not get told off. These people represent Marvel Comics and I hope Disney takes a good long look at the behaviour of the entire comics side and scorches the earth.

Cancelling all the shitty SJW books was a good start but I hope massive overhauls are coming to the nu Avengers line up because their current offering is about as appetizing as wet dog vomit.

So what's up with this guy I'm starting to see around?

I mentioned it here:

^^ The latest autistic slap-fight in #Comicsgate. I think D&C himself is being extra autistic about this, I saw Bemis's tweet, and it was a bad attempt at a joke/insult, no more.

For some background, Max Bemis is the writer of Moon Knight, whose 1st issuewas recommended by D&C:

..Only for Bemis to be autistic enough to reject said praise, because it's not coming from the right people:

God, I love autism.

Tbqh, it all depends on what type of CEO Bob Iger’s successor will be. Iger pushed back his planned retirement due to the 20th Century Fox buyout, but he’s still going to retire in the next few years. After how much Michael Eisner micromanaged the Disney departments and all its subsidiaries, Iger gave everyone much more room. If the successor is more like Eisner, then there will be near constant shake ups within Marvel; if he/she is more like Iger, then Marvel will have to screw up way worse than this for Disney to take an active role. The EA Battlefront situation is a little different from Marvel. EA isn’t a subsidiary of Disney. Disney was able to step in so quickly and get EA to do what they wanted because EA needed to protect it’s very lucrative relationship with Disney. If EA didn’t remedy the situation, Disney would likely not renew the contract with EA. A subsidiary can usually (not always) get away with more fuckery because their relationship with the parent company can’t be broken as easily as a company with a rights contract to the parent company’s IP.

Cebulski seems to be a good choice as Marvel’s Editor-in-Chief, but he is still too new for us to know if he’ll be a good tard wrangler. Based on the pros’ public reactions to Cebulski, most appear to have very little respect for him, which may mean he won’t be able to wrangle the tards at Marvel. However, this is purely speculation based on my perception.

EDIT: changed body to reflect @RockVolnutt correction.

Depends whether he has firing power. If he doesn't have that, maybe. If he does, he can just axe the tards rather than wrangle them.

I would hope the Editor-in-Chief does have the power to fire somebody. One would also think that common sense would prevail if the pros saw that their jobs were actually at risk. Furthermore, if Cebulski went on a firing rampage, I can see the tards and the media writing article after article about how they are such poor victims and Cebulski is “literally Hitler.” It’s a fine line. You don’t want your employees to think they can do whatever they want, but you don’t want them to think that the slightest mistake means they’re fired. However, it appears that Marvel employs very few talented people, just vocal twats. So, I’d be up for scorched earth at Marvel.

Correction: Cebulski is editor in chief, not CEO. The CEO of Marvel Entertainment (which I'll remind everyone isn't attached to Marvel Studios anymore) is Ike "The Kike" Perlmutter.

Sorry for the double post, is this the equivalent of that Huffington Post picture? You know the one. Heather seems to be trying to bait people recently.

20 minutes? Maybe for a trade paperback. The weekly ones that are bread and butter are more like a five minute read, and 90% of the time nothing happens in them.

Tbh, that's why I'm amazed the comic industry isn't in worse shape. The business model worked when comic issues were like 5 cents a piece (even with inflation it's still pretty cheap), but now you have to pay like $5-$10 for a few pages of content.

The best move for her career is to provoke some edgelord into writing salty comments to her on Twitter that the SJW comic "press" can blow out of proportion (and manufacture some extra for good measure). I suspect she's feeling the heat as Gwenpool got cancelled and getting embroiled in another manufactured controversy à la that milkshake BS would make her harder to fire for a while longer.

REEEEE REEEEE flips over and does a dance look at meeeeee look at MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

(someone looks at her)

REEEEE REEEEEE I'm being harassed!
God forbid it if someone dares to call her a fake geek girl.

Oof! This may piss off the very enlightened fake geek girls.

@neural Here are some screenshots for you. The first is where Heather Antos accused D&C of participating in the Charlottesville march and Auger’s response. The second is where Antos and Auger admit to going after his Patreon.

As much as I think that D&C and Co. are not as thorough as they should be, Antos and Co. are downright incompetent at everything..

Can you tell me who Susan Auger is? I have seen that name multiple times, but my searches didn't go anywhere.

IIRC, Auger is a wannabe comics writer, but she isn’t working for any comic company. That’s all I know. I couldn’t find much either. I believe D&C mentioned it in one of his videos, but I’ll have to go through the videos later to find it. He just has so many videos.

Auger is friends with all the same people Antos is friends with. They do a lot of their scheming on Facebook. You’re right about their incompetence. When they get caught planning to mass flag, bait someone to assault another, etc., they continue to do the same thing with the same group of people. It’s weird. You’d think that for people with such a low threshold for defining harassment they would at least try to cover their tracks.

Auger is another person who stalks D&C and Ethan van Sciver. In the beginning of the Melissa Morgue saga, D&C thought it might be Auger's sock. She is a real person though, and knows a lot of industry people. I'm pretty sure Antos got D&C's dox from Auger.

I assume Antos is the one at the front of the pic in the green top? Quelle surprise, she's not as slim as her avatar.
