@Xsquander, how do you feel conscription as general idea? I mean, it's perfectly legal and certainly used actively in (non-US) countries around the globe. This seems like a subject that'd be in opposition of your personal views, am I correct on that?

The question is too involved to give a basic "general" idea. For the most part I don't think war is necessary in most circumstances. I do believe in the need for a national defense though. I believe part of respecting the sovereignty of other nations involves not attacking other nations in an offensive manner. I don't see why we don't cut in half our military budget and then beef up our home defense. This way people can defend their country without having to leave it and this can verify that war is the last resort as well. All that being said, if you don't pay taxes but want the amenities provided by them I don't see why the government cannot make you fight to defend the country in the event such a circumstance arises. If you do pay taxes then I do not see how the government can make you. For example if I were to be drafted (which I can't be) I would totally understand. That is, I would understand if it wasn't some bullshit offensive political agenda based war with some guise to make it seem legit.

I think the answer is with violence. Not to mention, everyone and their mother is expected to pay taxes, on countries with conscription the government just demands more from those they see fit to conscript. You say you'd understand if you were conscripted into armed service, so does that mean you're exempt from taxes? Don't really know how the benefits work on the states.

The government doesn't tax itself. That is the short answer.

The long answer is the government doesn't tax itself but certain income over a certain amount must be reported and then the payment by the government adjusted accordingly. I am on SSI which is what the federal government considers the bare minimum to survive. If there was a "universal income" within our country it would be the same payment I get. So roughly 9,000 a year. I believe that there should be a universal income of at least what I make BUT that in return the minimum wage should be removed in its entirety. Anyone who does not make at least 750 a month would be offset by the government. Again, if these people were drafted they would have to go. That's part of the agreement by taking the payment. Basically a universal income could accomplish two things. It would allow the minimum wage to be removed (which Republicans want) and it would allow a more ethical forced draft, given this would be the trade off for those who do not work. One of a few tradeoffs. There would also be programs that would encourage these people to find work or to give them skills for work and contacts to find affiliates to find work. They have these now though. Here for example it is called "DORS" which is the "Division of Rehabilitative Services". With a universal income, such an agency (in my state it is funded by the board of education) would extend its services to those on the minimal income. This would also provide more jobs as the government would have to hire more people and open more agencies to handle the caseload.

Trust me, they're very fucking different in their impact on your life. Junkies will be comatose on the floor and then maybe steal your stereo or something. Crackheads are extremely awake and will be waving a gun in your face.

Know the difference. It could save your life.

Have you thought about actually working instead of being a degenerate?
