DarksydePhil / TheyCallMeDSP / Phil Burnell - General Discussion

Status
Not open for further replies.
Nearing the end of the escort drama when jezal exiled himself, phil said something like "i just lost 4 subs, im down to 380" or something like that, now BSV is gone, dont forget he gifted subs to some to boost phils count, BSV did quite a lot to boost phils cash, i think even rumors of him setting up a couple patreon accounts and twitch accounts for subbing, he was a devoted troll that would donate to spite people that didnt like DPS, i feel he could have influenced the subs a lot.
I just wonder how many of his subs are subs given to people? Do these people wanna be subbed to him?

Has anyone been logging Phil's tips/bits etc? I'd be curious to know how his finances have since tanked. With some of his top paypigs gone I wonder how long until someone takes their place on the pigpole.
Now that we've got 3 weeks of results in, I'll show that Twitch income is very high right now, only behind December's entire month thanks to the December 30th fundraiser and more.

#1 There's no way in hell I'm going to try & calculate the federal IRS income tax or Washington state B&O tax payments he'd make on his Twitch income. Consider this the amount of money thrown at DSP rather than how much he actually receives.
#2 Some cheers don't go through, but thanks to my raw logging I can see that & have not included those.
#3 Subs don't have to be shared to the chat, so there should be extra subs money. I think the gifted subs are shared automatically however.
#4 Tips are missing a bunch of smaller tips. I've been listening to what prestreams I can to hear shoutouts for overnight tips, if there are sub $2 tips mentioned in prestream/postpre I've noted them, otherwise if they happen in gameplay I've missed them. The rest I've kept images from when they showed up on stream, so the tips number will be slightly higher than I've tracked.
#5 There's also Twitch ad revenue. DSP considers it a joke, but 1) he whined about 'only $7' for a Nioh saucy stream with a few breaks & 450-500 viewers, 2) he got $10/day for a week or so of highly attended MvCI salty multiplayer days with ~1K viewers & 3) he whined about 'only $20' for the few breaks between WWE fantasy sims matches with a consistent 700+ viewers. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets $2 of Twitch ad revenue MINIMUM per stream, likely over $500 in a year.

First up, the first week of January. Remember how much DSP whined about Konami doing ContentID claims on MGS2 & presumably MGS3 videos? He even gave a figure of almost 70% of the MGS2 videos being claimed. BUT this is precisely why DSP planned to play Mario Sunshine in January - this is when the ad revenue is at the lowest during the year anyway, so DSP would lose as little as possible.
upload_2018-1-22_17-17-19.png
All that whining despite really huge numbers, over $1200 in subs & cheers & another $500+ in tips. Combined that's maybe a few hundred dollars higher than previous first weeks in the month. Perhaps not enough to replace the ad revenue on ContentID claimed MGS2/3 videos, but pretty damned close IMO.

Onto the second week, cheering & subbing pull even further ahead than previous months, tipping actually drops back... but remember DSP was asking for tips over cheers/subs in November & December to get the money for 2017 WA B&O tax payment before the end of January. That issue has gone away & he's next worried for April, so cheers/subs money will come in by then. Jezal's $150 birthday cheer was during this second week on January 10th, I can confirm he hasn't been in chat since January 16th and that birthday cheer was his latest cheer or sub.
upload_2018-1-22_17-21-30.png

Now up to date with the third week, cheers & subs pull even further ahead, almost $1K ahead of the previous best, combined with tips DSP has already had over $4500 thrown at him on Twitch.
upload_2018-1-22_17-24-53.png

Finally... just how much has been tipped for DSP since the backtaxes issue was revealed on Hate Live? Over $9400.

The rest of this I'll spoiler to reply to actually's informative income post. All I'll say is feel free to "replace" me, it's important to have more than just 1 or 2 people tracking this stuff. If I stopped & no one else tracked Twitch income, you'd just have to take DSP's word on if it's good or bad... and we all totally trust DSP's word. Mr. "I didn't make a dollar on Twitch until May" yet he was happily accepting cheers & subs, deliberately waiting until the middle of November 29th when Twitch re-enabled partnership on his channel, not just re-activating the channel. Let me guess, DSP would justify this by saying he wasn't running notifications, therefore he wasn't 'working' to make people cheer & sub, ergo he didn't 'make' the money, it was just handed to him.
upload_2018-1-22_17-44-19.png

Can't find that number on EddyB's twitter (I get like $1300), but thus far in the month of January, I have the following stats, as determined using overrustlelogs's chat logs of DSP's twitch and a python script that searches for the appropriate triggers:

Code:
Unique cheerers: 286
Total cheers: 7071
Final bit total is: $ 2300.73
Average cheer: $ 0.33
Subs: 307 (253@$4.99, 4@$9.99, 0@$24.99, 50 gifted) ***NOTE: only subs for this month, so there is some carryover from last month that could result in more than 500.***
Final sub total is: $ 655.21
Unique tippers: 0
Final tip total is: $ 0.00
Live pet total is: $ 0.00
Total money is: $ 2955.94
Not sure how your subs math is being worked out, it's much simpler than that & should always be a 50c or $1 value. Prime/$4.99 subs the creator gets '50%', $2.50 & Twitch takes $0/$2.49. For $9.99 the cut is 60% & $24.99 it's 70%, just like $4.99 the creator gets the higher clean amount so $6 & $17.50 respectively.

I check my numbers by seeing how the leaderboard matches with my user cheer amounts, and it's generally identical to the cent, with a few exceptions caused by overrustle's use of UTC time zone. Because tips aren't shown in chat anymore, I have no info on those and I don't have any desire to watch the streams or videos to determine them (more power to EddyB on that one).
I cut my numbers at 4am PST/midday UTC, it's a convenient time for me to consistently cycle my IRC clients & it's rare anyone is cheering etc. at that time. So for a double stream day anything from 4am until 1st stream begins is included in the first stream, and then anything after 2nd stream until 4am the next day is considered part of 2nd stream. Generally I split the streams at 6pm PST, depends if there's any early cheering as I like to include anything after 1st stream as 2nd stream as that's when DSP will shout it out. e.g. if there's a cheer at 5:40pm I'll cut at 5:30pm.
Tips... you don't want to know. There's the @SoapQueen1 method of trying to listen out for DSP's shoutouts in the audio... but that requires listening to the stream & I can't take DSP's cringy gameplay commentary any more. So I take screenshots every 5 seconds while the streams are left running (automated to ensure it starts correctly for a second stream) then skim through them the next day looking for tip notifications & keeping those images. THIS is the timesink, can take anything from 30 minutes to a couple hours while I listen to podcasts etc.

And here's the cheerers, how much they cheered, and the percentage of the total amount cheered thus far this month (this one's long)
This is impressive, I don't really have an easy way to do this with my logging method.

The only month where tips were turned on in chat was November 2017, and that was skewed by the first of his major begging sessions (around Thanksgiving, maybe?). Here are the stats for that month, however:
Code:
Unique cheerers: 280
Total cheers: 3866
Final bit total is: $ 2203.18
Average cheer: $ 0.57
Subs: 220 (199@$4.99, 3@$9.99, 0@$24.99, 18 gifted)
Final sub total is: $ 514.49
Unique tippers: 131
Final tip total is: $ 3184.04
Percent of sub $2 tips is: 23.40%
Live pet total is: $ 13.94
Total money is: $ 5915.65
Here are my November stats, they're slightly different, and I did use Nightbot for tips (I checked images for the first few days, then stopped once I felt comfortable they were matching):
Twitch income total to the end of November 2017: Subs ~$503 & cheers ~$2202.31 & tips ~$3251.95 = ~$5957.26
Sub total to the end of November 2017: 194 so ~$485 & 3 $9.99 subs so ~$18 = ~$503
November 30th pet total: 4 Love ~$2 & 1 Cooldown ~$2.50 = ~$4.50
Based on the vague statements DSP gave about getting a couple bucks AND the old standard of Twitch giving the creator 'half' the $4.99 sub so $2.50, I went with DSP getting 50c for $0.99, $2.50 for $4.99 & $5 for $9.99 (although this Ultimate Love option did not appear once as purchased in my logs.
The subs difference makes sense, part of my checks are to see if a user has subbed for the same number of months during this month, if so I do NOT count the second time it shows up. I do count an upgrade to a higher tier sub (e.g. Prime->$9.99 or $24.99). I believe a user can mash share as often as they like on a sub, explaining these odd dupes. Earlier this year Derich got 5 different sub notifications in the same month, which keyed me into this & made me start checking.

Guess I'll throw this here since some cunt on twitter asked me to check and I'm too lazy to actually check. (I use the term 'cunt' affectionately)

I think @EddyB43 knows the story (sorry bud but my memory of it is foggy). Anyone else who remembers feel free to share the details.

He just "modded" fightsticks with copyrighted art. I tried to report the listings on EBay but they just ignored it. His loophole to get around selling the copyrighted works (which absolutely doesn't hold up) is that it's the buyer who gives him the art so the liability would be on them. I think it was a Phil/Rambo/Howard venture back when they were friends.

https://mobile.twitter.com/XxButta/status/955529459754561537 Phil just insulted meteor, and disregarded kiwi farms saving him and even trying to undermine the effort you guys put in into stopping these catfishers, he's disrespecting kiwi farms and trying to discredit your efforts.

I mean, he's not entirely wrong. It was the girl contacting him that made this blow up in the catfisher's faces. What neger did was CONFIRM that they were indeed fake, which Phil SHOULD give him credit for, but everything after that where neger exposes the catfishers true identities and that they like putting children's toys up their orifices isn't related to Phil at all, and he probably hasn't even read it.

As for the stuff he says about Metokur, though, it's just the same excuses he always has.

What neger did was CONFIRM that they were indeed fake, which Phil SHOULD give him credit for, but everything after that where neger exposes the catfishers true identities and that they like putting children's toys up their orifices isn't related to Phil at all, and he probably hasn't even read it.

It's still rude he's reacting the way he is, If I was him I would get on my knees and thank neger for saving my career, my relationship, my finances. Maybe Kiwi should demand that Phil makes a video on his knees formally thanking Kiwi farms.

If you would get on your knees to thank someone, you wouldn't be Phil.

This site isn't a weapon against him. We're just laughing at his downward spiral. I'd suggest you take that :autism: elsewhere, lest you end up with your own thread.

I'm not trying to use any weapon against him, I'm saying what neger and Kiwi farms did was amazing, Phil's reaction is horrible a he should be thanking people here.
We're talking about the guy who only engages his audience when they send him money. Did neger do something good? Yes. Could it have indirectly or even directly benefitted Phil? Possibly. But it's not directly supporting him through Twitch and Patreon, so it doesn't matter.

And I think most people on Kiwi Farms accept that no matter what good deed you do, how many you do, or how often you do them, in the eyes of Phil, we're just detractors.

Although I appreciate the sentiment I don't think anyone owes me or KF anything. It was a weird situation.

For the record when I write stuff on here (such as when I used to do break downs of DSP's prestreams) I always gave full permission for people to copy/screenshot/share with or without attribution. So, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to continue functioning all the same with or without having asspats from people.

I know, I'm saying considering his lack of generosity, If I were neger I would demand an thank you video. You guys stopped cat phishers.

I received payment enough in the quality laughs the entire Mysterywoman saga delivered. I don't need anything from anyone and I don't really need people to ask for anything on my behalf.

In hindsights I'm kinda glad the thing went as long as it did, because if it hadn't we probably never would've been introduced to the Brongsteens and "The Hogeeveen Beauties".

Kek, Phil is even trying to take credit for "da trooth" being exposed now? Hilarious. Like he got to the bottom of it and reached out to get this girl to come forward publicly. Like he solved the case like a crack detective. He just sat there goggle-eyed and oblivious, denying everything, which had no effect because that's all he ever does in life anyway.

That said, I'm surprised Phil even watched it. It isn't really about him, it's about Baseball Bat Brenda and that other faggot and the farms. It just involves him. You'd think a street smart real businessman like DSP would listen to his own advice and not watch "detractor" vids (I know Metokur isn't a detractor but he doesn't give Phil money so he's a detractor in his eyes) but there you go.

Well people knew that Brenda and Patrick were catfish people like 4-5 years ago (there was a guy from the Netherlands who somehow knew). The problem is that as far as I'm aware there was no direct evidence. There was never any real expose. It just seemed they got confronted, deactivated their accounts, renamed them and then came back and did the same shit.

It's one thing to be able to point at a husband and wife as a commonality with a bunch of suspicious accounts, its a very different thing to be able to prove they registered a domain name for a fake porn star persona which revealed their street address and other additional details (such as their two companies which had a history of promising massive games and never delivered anything).

Besides that they started scrubbing all their identities when I vaguely mentioned a few details about them, which is even harder proof.

There's still that single screenshot of some forum post where some random guy said DSP hired an escort after prom which people still point out as a "maybe it was true" thing. Perhaps because there was so little information its a bit more believable, but this was quite unique in that Mysterywoman not only disappeared but the people behind her got exposed.

I'm not sure how many other examples are out there of people who operate decade-long catfishing empires either, so its quite interesting to me just from that perspective alone.
