The Sims Modding Community - "[Sims 4] Incest, Teen Romance, Babies For Everyone and more! UPDATED FOR 1.5.149.1020!"

The Sims 2 was definitely when the crazy mods started.

The Sims 1 had it's fair share of crazy mods as well. Brb while I grab my phone and film some of this...I downloaded a whole bunch of random shit before Sims 1 modding forum/custom content archive site CTO Sims went down so my game is a dumpster fire, but a dumpster fire that's a small piece of modding history...

The one thing I didn't manage to get was the sex mods by M&M Needful Things; although I hear they are in a Sims 1 mod archive Yahoo group called "Saving the Sims" so do with that information what you will.

Even though the mods are still crazy, the Sims 1 community does have far less drama than the modern ones though just by virtue of there being way fewer people, and most of those people are older women who played the first game in their teens and are self-aware enough to not constantly drop their spaghetti like the people who own Simblrs for the later games. They mostly just pop into Simblesse Oblige ((http://www.simblesseoblige.com/index.php)) occasionally to post a cool house they made or ask where to find an old mod before retreating back to their normie lives.

((Apologies for the mp4, idk where to upload since Vidme is ded and it was my only video upload throwaway, RIP))

I've been honestly waiting for a thread on these guys. From popular Sims 4 cc makers like gohliad and sul-sul taking their balls and going home the minute an ounce of drama occurs, only for them to "return" as someone else and the cycle to refresh, to the recent passing of a Sims 2 modder that happened shortly after a banned Sims forum member threw a hissy fit wishing death on her. The sims community is a wreck, whether they make mods or merely use them, and I look forward to observing more drama unfold.

I looked through SimSecret and jesus christ.

During the Sims 2's lifespan, there was a website that had mods (I think it was Mod The Sims but I could be wrong) for the game which were behind a paywall for some reason. Obviously this annoyed people, but somebody created a mock website inspired by Pirate Bay's design which had all the paid mods for free to download. There was a huge backlash by the modding community, more specifically just the people demanding money for their mods.

Unfortunately I don't know if any of the posts complaining about this are still hidden around somewhere.

I used to download a lot of shit there for Sims 2, and its true a lot of mods are pretty demented.

I used to cage a lady in the yard, force her to have babies and then barbecue and serve the fried children to people (open for business sims) who would buy them from me. I'd also build a basement, keep people in there and force them to fish in a pond in my basement, fix cars, and grow weed. Yes theres also a grow weed mod. Theres all this automatic shit that will let you run a business and hire people, then keep them as slaves with the jail mod, and never pay them a dime. I'd also have strippers and shit.

It can be mad fun but eventually gets boring. My favorite are the robots you can keep, and drones to just clean up after you. Another good tip is to get "AdjustLot", you just buy a small lot, exit the sims, adjust it to the biggest size and then go back to the sims. Its mad fun to build a house over a car overpass, or partly in the sea.

Edit: Oh and keeping a butler, then turning him in to a zombie is mad fun as well. They will keep doing their job despite being a zombie, vampire or werewolf. A butler will also help maintain your weed fields. You can also sell the weed, or even smoke it as a doobie or in a bong.

A big help is the "inSiminator" mod which will help adjust your sims, give them talents, etc.

You know what? I generally don't judge modding communities because videogames are in my opinion something we can use to avoid reality.
But the fucking pedophilia mod and other autistic stuff are just a paliative for certain types of sickos, and you just know they are creeps with real people in real life.

Most of the mods I used to see back then were some weird ones, but most of them were done to fix problems in the main game. For example: If you didn't put in a certain baby mod, then every minute an adult would pick a baby up, put it down and another adult would pick the baby up. Of course most of the mods I saw were beauty and fashion because EA Games had horrible hair and clothing designs in The Sims. It was very bland looking without custom content.

The Sims 2 is still the best sims out there, also for mods. They have tons, and you can just goof off and have fun. Those newer Sims are slow and bloatware, even on uberfast PC's.
