So they got rid of Raph's sais, presumably for some bizarre censorship reason, but Leo's swords are okay? Even dumber to replace them with tonfas of all things too. Not only are those more suited to a defense-centric fighting style, which doesn't fit the character at all, but the whole reason for him having sai specifically is that they served as an offset for Leo's swords and vice versa - which made sense since they were often butting heads with each other.
The longer you look at this mess, the more you notice all these confusing details that build up into one big clusterfuck.

- Disney goes around and gently points out to journalist, that there are people who might vote down Black Panther because blacks, yo.
( If they even need to do that by this point, people usually gravitate towards where the money comes from. ) - The journalists, who either get directly paid for shilled articles like this, have been 'pampered' by Disney so much that they have a positive attitude towards the company, or who are simply picking up that story (because ad-clicks) leap into action and write white-knight-articles, that alt-right trolls gonna down vote Black Panther.
- Lot's of free publicity.
- Normies might think abysmal audience scores are doctored by shadowy trolls.
- ...in turn reviews from professional (shilled) critics appear more genuine.
- Some idiots might be even seeing that film twice, because they want at least some overpriced popcorn when they virtue signal.
- Some idiots might ignore their own gut feeling about the quality of that movie because of white guilt/black pride.
- The movie also becomes immune to criticism, because everyone who doesn't like it and says that openly, might become branded as a Nazi.
And Disney wins all the way.
I don't think that is a good long-term policy, since at some point even the whitest of knights (except maybe Dobs) will get sick of these movies and stop watching them. People will continue to white knight, but don't bother to really support what they are virtue signaling for. But to boost the sales of a movie overloaded with SJW-shit, that might bomb, it is a good strategy. Although I don't really think that there is a shadowy puppet-master in shape of a mouse behind all this and this just a cultural phenomenon corporations like Disney can profit of, I don't think Disney would be above pushing that sort of narrative, if it looks like it makes them money.
Jesus Christ, I mean good that they are giving them distinct bodies and such, I can imagine that it makes the show easier to watch.
But seriously, what the fuck. Not just the art style looks wrong: Raphael looks like the hulk fucked a turtle, Donatello like a villain and Leonardo like he has a serious case of the mongoloids.

Dobson says it’s not race baiting but identity politics really does seem to raise racial tensions quite a bit, 20 years ago people probally saw Blade and thought ‘That looks like a cool character/movie’ but if it came out now SJWs like Dobson would be saying how it’s amazing black representation and white people, being racist pieces of shit, need to go see it to support diversity because there’s too many white actors on screen.

This is such a fucking annoying case of "Haha you can't criticize me for doing this unless you criticize the Muppets, and since everyone loves the Muppets if you criticize them you'll be wrong!" Mostly because while it's technically accurate to what Dobson was doing with his comics, the massive amounts of his stupidity pervade every other aspect of it. (Like the fact that he was the one who chose to have his avatar turn into a Grumpy Bear ripoff that was a midget compared to real people, he didn't start out that way.)
Probably more an attempt to ape Spongebob squinched faces.

Often the person doing that is just a troll, wanting to cause a ruckus. The average /pol/ troll doesn't care if they get a negative response, because any response at all means they win. I'm sure this kind of person has an orgasm when denounced by name by the United Nations.
There is also the second wave of responders, who are dumb enough to be completely sincere about it, who join in on the me too brigade. Like the original troll, though, they also don't give a shit if all the coverage is negative, so long as there's coverage.
Then even if nobody in that group starts it, there's always just posting the hate yourself. The "journalists" won't bother looking into it anyway, they'll just regurgitate whatever story they're fed.

As a Turtles fan, the designs for the Turtles are alright, while Raph’s sais being replaced is upsetting, at least they weren’t replaced with a grappling hook like Mikey’s nunchucks were at some point in the 87 series.
I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt, but I’m not too excited about April and Splinter’s designs.
