I'd love to get autistic about frame delay and netcode but I think it boils down to this:

DSP plays fighting games on console, which offers a universal experience. So all of the "netcode issues" he has as well as the "dropped inputs" are the same things that all of his opponents experience.

He's full of shit.

Doesn't he play over wireless internet? That might contribute to his "lag issues" too.

A quick post with a query: Is $2 CPM an insanely high 'maximum' value for a Curse or similar MCN partnership for a channel like DSPGaming during 2017? I want to call bullshit on the claim that DSPGaming ad revenue was even close to his Twitch participation income & if $2 CPM for every 1K views from January 1st->December 31st 2017 is unbelievable then that'd be good to know. Yes, I know many of the videos are ContentID claimed and many shouldn't even count as monetized for adblock & the like.

On a sidenote, I just got my 5th win this morning.
I'll just include the comment I left under Mrhuth Stuff's video here, since I haven't directly talked about how much PUBG has pulled in for DSP. Pretty cheeky since he clearly doesn't like the game, and just uses it as an excuse for "interaction".

Let's see if we can figure out why DSP keeps playing PUBG... 'participation' so cheers, subs & tips:
This was DSP's 27th dedicated stream of PUBG. I'm not going to include the portions that followed MGS3, VRChat or as part of the Christmas games marathon.
I'll also keep the December 30th fundraiser streams (11th & 12th) separate.
These 25 PUBG streams over the last 1.5+ months have brought in over $4700. Even if we go extreme with taxes & fees on that, he'll bring in $4K+ by mid March (losing this first session of February's 'participation' of just over $200... well except ~$125 of that was tips so only ~$75 is cheers & subs money.)
The December 30th fundraiser double stream pulled in over $3200, just over $600 of which was actually cheers & subs money. This set is more of an outlier & he'd have likely done as well playing most other games for that.

Last statistic since I was curious for January's stats after he put up FIFTEEN playlists of PUBG last month... he uploaded over 35 hours of PUBG gameplay in ~200 videos. That's not including streams 1-12 in December, the portion in the Christmas games marathon or this latest stream.

Christ almighty.

I was looking on Shoryuken to see if DSP ever spoke about Tomo, which I didn't find, but I did find the below post which was a response to DSP.

Its interesting that his excuse nowadays is either "netcode" or "dropped inputs" but 12 years ago his excuse was that he couldn't solo as a "team" because it was too hard to get a team together with a timespan of 7 fucking months (bugged tournament team creation mechanics). He seems to have tried to manipulate the rule about teams to say he was going to play as a team by himself (playing 3 different characters or some shit) which pissed people off more.

(in the end it seems like they ran a singles tournament alongside the team tournament as well because DSP wasn't the only person complaining)

The person replying to him points out what we all know and love about DSP, in that his "brilliance" only shines if he gets every condition in his favor/control. That's probably why he plays single player most of the time.

The best line out of the entire post is this:
"What you're pretty much doing here is completely isolating me from having any kind of fun whatsoever"

I tried to take the adblocking and demonetization into account by making the effective CPM $0.50-1.00. However, even if his CPM was $2, that would be income of about $42,000 from Youtube (since he had something like 21M views over 2017). His Twitch income for the year (subs + cheers + tips) was well above that, wasn't it?

@EddyB43 John Rambo himself confirmed DSP was getting 2 dollar CPM back in glory days. There's no way is getting that with curse right? He could be but that would be unfucking believable.

I'm going to say with the $10k two stream Dec. Fundraiser, Phil easily made WELL over $42k off Twitch for the year. $42k-$10k/12= $2,666.66 a month.

I must say that I am looking forward to seeing how folks react to the new twitch based event goals. Seeing as a Pay-me-tons playtrough used to be bought for $1250 and now will cost $3250 ( 600 subs at $5+/- )...plus the additional $5+ pay-me-tons pledge 'to vote' on the game he might play the next month, in the next six months or perhaps even next year, lol ^.^

This video, wow, just wow.

The amount of boredom his PUBG streams have is amazing, not only that, he knows he sucks at the game but needs to play it but that means he has to hide for 90% and hope to survive or grab a vehicle and kill people that way. It has been a long time since i've seen him THAT bored at a game without ragequitting it.

This isn't even good as background noise, it's just a guy whining occasionally about the game while nothing happens. How can people think this is worth any penne is beyond me.

He constantly speaks in sweeping generalizations and pronouns. “Everyone is…; Everybody is…” He constantly will flame a game because his experience for that moment is poor or not up to expectations. And for Pete’s sake will one of his henchman or child slaves tell daddy to wear his friggin glasses. He is so off on some of his shots.

If it's worth anything, that video was twelve years ago. That and even the high tier players in the FGC don't have perfect records either. It's almost surreal how you can do a character study on Phil just from his fighting game time alone. There's no denying Phil was at least decent back then- otherwise he'd be way more irrelevant back then- but like everyone knows by now, everyone else tried to learn and adapt, meanwhile Phil stayed mediocre and had to jump on a game most high level players skipped to even bag that 4th place trophy. You could even argue he got even worse, with doubling down on his attitude, not committing to learning a system, and his age and health. Phil has shown plenty of times to cling on wins, not realizing no one cares if you beat a known pro unless you can consistently do it.

You have a point. And also there are many factors that could lead to Phil beating someone better than him. After all there's so many examples in media about how experienced people can get so cocky they underestimate their opponents. This leads to them making mistakes they wouldn't normally make.

Maybe if every match of pubg he plays is 'garbage' or 'bullshit' and he did poorly because 'I didn't get lucky' he should try playing the game a different way.

He's got such an odd autistic stubbornness about always doing things the exact same way.

This guy knows whats going on,

DSP, as usual, has no idea what he's talking about, his statement doesn't even make sense coming from someone who plays this game that often (albeit hating it to the bones)

His ideas contradict themselves, he complains it's really hard to aim but he wants humans to be more nimble, he complains about vehicles being too good and then says they are trash when he has to run someone over multiple times.

You know what bother me the most about his opinions? He is probably the biggest culprit of moving goalposts and useless feedback. His complaints are no better than someone saying "This sucks and i want it to be better", without giving an explanation on why and what could be done about it. His only arguments when cornered seem to be "EVERYONE IS SAYING THIS..." even though there is no way to prove this.

Also, and this is something that i think it's one of the worst aspects of his persona, his inability to distingish a discussion from a personal attack. It's amazing that you can't disagree with this guy without him insulting you, being friends with this guy seems to be fucking impossible.

How did people once think he was a legitimate game reviewer is beyond me.
