I got a soft spot in my heart for Action Bronson

This thread needs more Earl.

I second that notion.

Madlib's solo stuff is incredible. His record Shades of Blue is especially good:

And if you haven't heard them yet, MF DOOM's old rap group KMD was ahead of its time in the mid-90s.

I don't like Joe Budden that much, but it's ridiculous that he gets shit over calling out what a pile of hot trash Revival is.

I've been listening to some.. let's say very varied set of rap songs lately, here's a sample of 'em:

I always had an idea for a Rap community thread, would you think it's sustainable?
Maybe, but that might just be 70% DJAk and DomisLive videos. This is more media/journo drama, and normal "rap beef" is a lot less interesting than this Complex shit in my opinion.

I did pause before posting this here, since it's not explicitly music, but it seemed like the best spot.

Thinking about it, KiwiFarms shouldn't try to replicate tabloid coverage (probably the idea behind no celebrities). The spirit of this is we should focus on the meta-commentary, or watching the watchers.

Nah it's actually quite interesting to watch. And it is on-topic.

I also think you're right about my suggestion.

I've been listening to this and people have said it features very different styles and eras of rap because of the various ages of the hip hop producers in this. Can anyone place them?

1st beat (up to 2:03): This is modern rap music, I'd say 2010s.
2nd beat (2:03 - End): Boom-bap hip-hop, you're talking strictly 90's & throwback rap. Probably closer to throwback given the obvious electronic elements.

Unkle Adams (obscure meme rapper) is $164k in debt over his failed career. Sold his house and stopped working in order to rap "full time". He seems to be outsourcing a lot of work to studios, and getting expensive music videos shot. His views on YouTube are terrible and mixed in with weird life advice stuff. If this keeps going on, he might deserve a lowcow thread.

I feel like the studio guy is just taking this dudes money [timestamp to 10:49]

Fantano talks about him without saying his name.

EDIT:
I watched some more of his weird vlog videos. The guy is straight up buying shit on his no-cash-back credit cards to try to sell and he says the most retarded self-help shit all the time to justify it.

Some random tuber making a video on it
