Cunninlynguists - Imperial (Feat. Freddie Gibbs)
Freddie Gibbs is incredibly slept-on IMO. One of the most well-rounded rappers out there.
[Verse Two] [Freddie Gibbs]
The politics of pushin' potent potion
One toke and I bet I got you open
Peep what I prescribe to my smokers
Give em the proper dosage
Gary boy with dreams like Michael to see the ocean
I was local til the white boy Joseph put me on different coasts
Then he left me for dead, dog
So he could push the pussy pigs Sonic The Hedgehog
The crackers wanna profit off my topics of mockin'
But yo I'm from a small town called
"Bitch when I see you, I'm in yo pockets"
Niggas rock it let it dry, trap, traffic and train hoes
Poppin' my P-95 at polices in plain clothes
The ghetto just infested with felons
So whether its the fuzz or the thugs now you under surveillance
I got a letter from the feds in the mail
That say I'm connected with some niggas that's sellin' yayo
So share some information or you'll be sharin' a cell
"Lock me up and swallow the key, throw me under the jail
Never tell, I'm a gangsta"

Love the electronic-style production.

The track that started the most punchline-happy supergroup. Easily one of my favorite ever posse cuts.

Crooked I & Royce kill it the most here.. Especially the 1st. The RED lines always leave me in awe.
[Crooked I]
I don't write I kill a pen, leak its blood on the page
I breathe bars like oxygen locked my lungs in a cage
Instrumentals get fucked on the stage
A pedophile unless I dig in the crates and fuck with somethin' my age

Forever vow, to never smile when I'm at peace
Only when I'm eating the deceased like quiche
Only when my enemy's internal organs are a smorgasbord in a feast
The Dahmer with melanin led 'em in the belly of the beast
You'll be missin' until fishermen see your corpse
I'll be in Michigan sticking a chicken in my Michelin
Ready to pigeon pitch again from Switzerland to New York
I was whipping Bentleys before them pictures up in The Source
I'm a gorillas behind these bars, on some zoo shit
Shoot you while you're talking on some news camera crew's shit
Sicker than flyin' in past tense on some flu shit
Day-old asshole flow, I drop new shit
Exclusive, you don't want it in fact
I'll have the doctors operating on the front of your back
Tryna keep your stomach intact
The spiritual you, leavin your body, he don't wanna go back
That's when the tunnel go black
I send your soul to the atmosphere
Fuck outta here and your ringtone rap career
It's Crooked I, the face of Eastside Long Beach
Put your ear to the street so you can hear my heartbeat

3 Kings rocking a great beat.. Royce's late 2000's/early 2010's spell deserves a thread of its own, so much fire! BTW, I am still amazed that the original Big Boi track didn't make it to the album, it even has an amazing Andre 3000 verse!

How have I never heard any of Redman's stuff until now? This is bangin

Been on a West-Coast bent lately..
Scarface bodies the track. I need to listen to him more.
This is the definitive night driving track.

Redman is a great MC, and one of the funniest.

This is an excellent track, but Meth is the star of the show here IMO.

Beat is very nice. But am I the only one who doesn't really <<love>> MF DOOM? I like some of his verses and I admire the artistry and technical excellence, but he is just too monotone + esoteric for my tastes. Same goes for Aesop Rock too.

Been on a Pusha T run this week:

Love the beat, and Pusha slays it as usual.

Outstanding track front-to-back, one of my favorite ever 2010s tracks.

Nice introspective track, good beat too.

Maybe you guys can answer this question I have. I just got into Korean Hip Hop and Urban, and what sort of genre would you call these two songs? Because I have no idea about the technical terms for the genres and subgenres. Also since they keep developing.

Those seem like regular mainstream rap. The 2nd one kinda reminds me of Kendrick Lamar's style.
